Macello is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is excellent and the service is always exceptional. You don't get a more authentic experience than an old meat packing warehouse. I can't recommend it enough.

Man, what a great dinner at Macello. The only thing better than the food was the service, first from the bartender and then our waiter. The food, the wine, the atmosphere, everything was perfect. Great spot!!

GF menu, no GF bread. Food was a little bland honestly. We dumped parmigiana and black pepper on it. Make sure you get seating out front. We were in the tunnel in the back next to the kitchen. It was like we were in a different restaurant.
We noted it was a birthday celebration on reservation which was ignored very disappointed but overall it's our go to for Italian food the service varies depending on who you get. However love their extensive bottle wine option and probably a few places still left in west loop for bottles under $40 for good wine! We also love their weekly specials we went on Thursday 1/2 price pizza night which is our favorite. We highly recommend this gem.

Just not what I am used to but understand it is restaurant week. Ordered off the regular menu and took quite long to get anything. Didnt order a second drink cause wasnt sure if it would make it before end of my meal. Always going back since Rene takes great care of us. Hope you guys prepare yourselves next year for the rush and keep up the typically great service you offer.

I’ve been coming to Macello’s for a few years. My experience alone cannot describe how much I love dining in. The quality and price for the food is unbeatable, the servers/service is incomparable, the atmosphere and aura is incredible. I would love to give a special shout out to Jennifer for always treating me like family and providing excellent service. Her recommendations are always on point, and her energy makes dining in an unforgettable experience. One, if not THE best, authentic Italian restaurant in Chicago! Highly recommend to anyone! My go-to dishes are filetto di manzo, cavatelli al forno, and to top off the night, the espresso martini with a pannacotta con salsa di caramello.

The food was very good.. enjoyed the stuffed mussels and the authentic wood oven pizza. Our server was excellent.. just the right amount of attention but allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation.
A great large group meal! Renee, our server, was attentive and the food really delicious. Lots of options! Great cocktails, wine and beer selection too and all of Renee's recommendations were well received.

Great service, cute and not pretentious/stuffy. Wait staff was so friendly and nice and helpful. My dish was an orecchiette with beef and it was good, but I wanted more flavor. My friend got a chicken dish and it was very good. Lovely wine, and they were kind enough to let us order it even though it was reserved for restaurant week diners only. Would definitely come back and try lots of other dishes. A great stop before a show at City Winery.

Our server was so nice, had Grace, great attention - and all the staff were great communicators w each other. The calamari and bread were not remarkable. The shrimp were nice and juicy (slightly tough). Decent portions - an app and entre will definitely fill you up. The mushroom farro was really good and the lady rosemary cocktail was great! Super smooth and a bit sweet but just gently. The decor of the bulbs and the painting on one of the walls is also really nice but didn’t like the tvs going in the background.
