Maharaj Indian Grill

I went with the 4+ rating as my first visit to Chicago downtown. I would say few lines if an Indian restaurant can’t cook dal makhni and butter chicken( I was served raw chicken not cooked) which I have to spit it out on my plate. tandoori paratha is unique as it’s not made up of wheat they use maida. Overall below average not recommended.

The food was delicious — we tried the Goat Curry and Paneer Kulcha, and both dishes were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The goat was tender and the spices were just right. Also, a big shoutout to our waitress Namitha, who was super friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. Will definitely come back!

Had a lovely time here! The food was great, but what made it memorable was Shubham’s energy and genuinely kind service. He’s the kind of person who turns a good meal into a great experience. Highly recommend grabbing a seat on the left side if you're visiting on Tuesday, Saturday, or Sunday that’s where he works his magic!

The service at Maharaja was exceptional, thanks to our server Lavanya. She was warm, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish. Her friendly and professional demeanor truly enhanced the dining experience — I highly recommend asking for Lavanya if you visit!
The food was outstanding as well — the Kadai Chicken was bursting with bold, spicy flavors, the Chicken Biryani was perfectly cooked and aromatic, and the Chilli Chicken had the ideal balance of crispiness and spice. A must-visit spot for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine with top-notch service.

What truly made our visit to Maharaja Restaurant in Chicago memorable was the exceptional service by our waiter, Lavanya. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming—one of the best servers we've had in a long time. The food was delicious and authentic, and the ambiance felt traditional and cozy. But Lavanya’s hospitality was the highlight of the evening. She made the whole experience special. Highly recommend asking for her if you visit!

The dal was so delicious my friend kept stealing from my plate. Krathi and Agneho were very friendly and efficient in taking our orders. Overall a delightful experience!! 🍽️

Love it !! I discovered it after a long trip and I come back twice never disappointed. The quality is there for a very good price and proportion! I highly recommend it!
