Maple & Ash Reviews
John provided us with exceptional service and a night we’ll never forget. We celebrated our 40th Anniversary and the food, drinks and service were on point!
My friend Shawn Childs tried to take his family and Friends to this establishment, and was racially, profiled, disrespected, and humiliated in front of the whole restaurant.
The security and management team stated “he had a gun on him and he dropped it on the floor And a child picked it up” but they had the wrong person. It was never him. They did nothing to rectify the situation.

Maple & Ash offers a beautiful setting with terrific service. The seafood tower is well-prepared and highly recommended, while the oyster selection is fantastic. The 18oz dry aged ribeye and bone-in ribeye are excellent choices, praised for their bold flavors and perfect preparation. The bread was described as cool, and the ambiance is dark, which some guests found cozy, though others struggled with the lighting. The restaurant has a lively energy, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, making each visit enjoyable. The dining experience at Maple & Ash is highly recommended for those seeking an upscale Chicago restaurant with great energy and attentive service.
The space has an intimate, almost cinematic vibe, lit entirely by candles that make the whole experience feel personal. The restaurant typically serves one portion of the house-made chips and truffle dip topped with caviar per table, but they graciously brought out two portions for the party of five, which was a thoughtful touch. The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with King Crab, the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare, and the Spanish Octopus were all exceptional. The Eisenhower (medium-plus) and the Pillows of Love, their famous buttery mashed potatoes, were also praised. To top off the evening, the Brown Butter Apple Palette and the Chocolate Cake were delightful desserts.
