Brass Tack is tucked inside the Waldorf; I came here with my family for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. If I'm being candid we needed a spot to duck into to escape the rain, and everyone was hungry lol. That said, my visit here was nothing short of stellar, and I shall return once my back account recovers.
Upon entry we were seated with no delay by a window (without reservation.) The place is low lit and there were musicians playing so it has a speakeasy vibe which was interesting.
My daughter had blueberry pancakes (which were insanely good) and I went with their smash burger (which was pretty good; not the best I've had but filling for sure.) What took the cake for me were the drinks; I tried the Exchange and La Villita and they were worth every penny... Particularly the La Villita (if you're a fan of a little spice.) But here's the thing: the cocktails were ~$25 a piece, so tread lightly.
Service was on point, and even tho the bill was more than I wanted to spend...i gladly dropped the coin. Highly recommend!

My wife and I were staying at the Waldorf Astoria and had dinner here on a Thursday night. There was plenty of seating available and we asked for a booth. It’s a dimly lit and cozy restaurant. Our booth was in front of the bar. Alex was our server and he was very nice. We ordered one French onion soup to start and said we were going to share it, they brought it to the table in two bowls which was great and we enjoyed it. We also had the Truffle ravioli and the Lamb chops done medium. Both of them were very good but since this restaurant is located in the Waldorf Astoria, we expected it to be outstanding. For reference, the bill for two of us was $172 including tip.

Tremendous brunch at the Brass Tack! The only thing better than the remarkable meal was the service - James was outstanding!

Brass Tack offers a decent brunch experience, but when it’s housed within the Waldorf Astoria, expectations naturally rise — and unfortunately, the food doesn’t quite match the level of its luxurious setting. While the ambiance is elegant and service was attentive and polished, the brunch menu felt fairly standard and lacked the wow factor you’d anticipate from a restaurant under such a prestigious name.
I haven’t tried dinner here yet, so perhaps that’s where the kitchen truly shines. But for brunch, it felt more like a good hotel restaurant rather than a standout culinary destination. Still, the professional and friendly service made the visit pleasant, and the setting is undeniably beautiful.

Tasteless breakfast!
Eggs had no flavor
Cheese was not melted in the omelette and was low quality cheese. An almost $30 omelette should have quality ingredients.
Coffee is burnt!
Toast is thin and dry
By far the worst breakfast we have ever had. Tried it 3 different times and all three times it was bad, which is Shocking given the price point.
Save yourself the money and go to one of the small breakfast places nearby.

The restaurant is very dark and heavy. We were there for lunch and I ordered Caesar salad with salmon. Salad was the size of a side salad, and consisted of box croutons and tasteless dressing. There was no fresh cracked pepper available. The Romaine came full leaf and it was awkward to cut in such a tiny, high sided bowl. The salmon was very good, but the salad overall was underwhelming and not worth the cost. I expected more from a restaurant attached to the Waldorf Astoria.

We went for Friday lunch. Menu was kinda of limited options. We got the burger with bacon and caramelized onion and it was really great, made to perfection ,with fries. We got dry martini too and it was good. Our friends ordered different food and liked it. A little overpriced for the portions ,but atmosphere was great, service was just ok,nothing special. Tip is included in the final bill. Recommended for some celebrations, but Chicago has much better restaurants options if you want to experience a great food.

Excellent breakfast sandwich. I hear there’s better monkey bread out there but it was still good. Coffee’s not bad.

Food and drinks were incredible! Santiago was our server, and he was very attentive for the first half of the meal but took 10-15 minutes to bring us our check after we finished our meal and another 10-15 to grab the check from us to run my card. Other than that, awesome experience!

Person answered the phone and basically told me that she could recommend somewhere else for me to eat as I was deciding to place the other..then when I asked her name she hung up the phone and when. I called back she lied and said we were disconnected when she purrposely hung up on me..very rude and terrible service.. I do not recommend

Service was very slow even though they were not that busy; the big disappointment was the “prime rib sandwich“ listed in the menu that turned out to be nothing but an Italian beef sandwich.
