A local coffee shop owner in Des Moines and a friend recommended Metric to me and my husband. We love it and come whenever we are in Chicago. Today we had the Maize Mocha special (again) and shared a scallion pastry and passion fruit monkey bread. We want to go back to get these items again now. The coffee, pastries and service are all beyond fantastic! There is no public restroom or indoor seating. The outdoor seating is nice when weather allows. I think street parking is usually easier on the weekend as this is an industrial area.

The coffee at Metric is my favorite in the city. On top of that, the staff is so friendly and welcoming. I’m kind of a regular and they always remember my order which I appreciate :) It’s really cold this week in Chicago and I feel bad for the staff because it’s not much warmer inside when ordering. Hopefully that is fixed soon.

stopped here right as they were opening before we got back on the road and it was a beauty for sure. the decor, the vibe, the slow peaceful aesthetic it gave, very calming. service great, coffee great, decent variety on pastries. definitely a wonderful spot.

Paid 7.50$ for a single origin pour over , they used a Tone pour over machine that left the drink very thin and mediocre tasting. I don’t think the baristas really care about having it dialed in as they focus more on their espresso drinks.

Pretty cool spot. I had to renew some certifications nearby and after I was done needed some coffee. I work not too far from this gem and I will definitely be back!!!
Stopped there yesterday randomly after a local competitor closed at noon. The barista was very pleasant and happy to take my simple large mocha order. it was made perfect and tasted delicious. i sat outside and enjoyed my cup while also enjoying the free smells of them roasting coffee. Great place. I really enjoyed. TY
