I came here with my wife after seeing great reviews for this place, but wouldn't go back.Food: We enjoyed the cactus tacos and birria tacos, but we didn't get enough tortillas and we're charged extra for more. The cauliflower dish was well presented but we found it to be undercooked. Our cocktails were on point and probably the best part of our meal.Service: We waited a good 20 minutes from the time we sat down to when we got our drinks. Our server was nice but he seemed to have a lot of tables to tend to. Also our table was sticky, so it was a little distracting when moving around our plates and glasses. All in all, it wasn't a terrible meal, but I think there are lots of other restaurants in the area that deliver better quality, service, and value.

Love, love, loved this place. Outstanding food with a lot of variety on the menu which seems to rotate in new dishes with some standards. Excellent, friendly service. Great neighborhood atmosphere. Burrito is a must, pulpo was cooked perfectly, and the flan. My goodness, the flan... Will be back. Again and again. Street parking available. Reservations recommended.

Love love love Mi Tocaya Antojería! My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and we were so happy with our experience. Everything we tried was fantastic, including our cocktails, and we really appreciated the thought that our server put into thoroughly explaining each dish to us.We ordered several things, but the Tacos con Nopalitos were the star of the show for us. They were so flavorful and filling for it just being one taco. I would go back for those alone.

Impressive and thoughtful menu -- not the typical Mexican but deeply rooted indigenous cuisine combined with the chef's taste memory.Parking: Plenty of FREE street parking on Logan Blvd around 5 pm on a weeknight.

Hubby and I came here for our anniversary and we had a good time. The service was good, sometimes felt a bit slow but nothing too crazy. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the tétela and the mole was nice and spicy. We then ordered the diy quesibirria which was surprisingly really delicious. Goat has a certain aftertaste and this one didn’t have it. We also ordered the carne en su jugo and the meat was delicious, lots of flavor. However when you ate the broth with the bacon it made it taste salty. On its own the broth held up really well but once mixed with the bacon bits it just made the whole dish borderline salty, for me it made it less palatable. The restaurant is also on the small side but you can still have a nice conversation with whoever you come with. We would definitely recommend it and come back on a different ocasion.

Came here on a Wednesday night and had to make this reservation over two weeks in advance because this place doesn't have many reservations and upon arriving, I realized just how small it is It appears that during summer or better weather they probably set up tables on their patio out front however, keep in mind they are literally on the corner of California and Logan so if you like the traffic and the pollution and all the foot traffic, this is the place to sit We were here during February and sat inside because it is quite cold outside I got very lucky because we had a 5:30 PM reservation with the parking directly on the street and did not have to pay and was able to find a space that was not permit only I must say the food here is such a fun and unique twist and perspective on Mexican food. The menu is very deep with details and ingredients. This is not your average run of the mill Mexican food and I absolutely enjoyed the experience. Our server was very very kind and super friendly. She was very helpful as well with recommendations, and what her thoughts were including the wine selection. And with our group, it was great that she had a sense of humor as well. I would definitely come back here again as this is a great culinary experience. This is definitely on the higher end as far as cost. It is definitely worth a visit if you've never been here considering just how well the ratings are and the diner reviews it does live up to it .

A perfect date night spot in Logan Square, especially in nice weather. It can be a cozy wait, but the servers are fairly accurate about wait times, and I actually saw them accomate a family with a young boy so that they didn't have to sit too close to the door since it was too drafty. It was really nice to see, and it really contributed to the pleasant atmosphere. It's also the best steak burrito I've ever had in my life and some really unique guacamole, and really good mocktails.

Would rcommend the DIY Quesabirria, Setas con Mole Rojo, and Heirloom Tetela! And get the Chicana cocktail - not too sweet or smoky, with a thick foam! The Aguachile was good but I prefer a milkier leche de tigre. Definitely reserve ahead of time as place is small.
