Midwest Coast Brewing Company is the kind of place that makes you wonder why every brewery doesn’t have a rooftop—perfect for parties, Sunday Fundays, and pretending Chicago weather is always this cooperative.

They host a surprising number of great events, including several for charity, which is how we first ended up here. Nothing strengthens goodwill like discovering a good beer while supporting a good cause.

If you swing by on a Sunday, you’ll find football on, people happily losing track of time, and a lineup of brews that won’t let you down. It’s the sort of spot where you arrive for “just one” and immediately realize you’re not going anywhere for a while.

Highly recommend for anyone who likes beer, rooftops, or excuses to avoid being productive.

In town visiting friends. We stopped by after the united center to checkout the vibe for a couple drinks. Had a great time, we loved that it’s dog friendly (yes I’m the one asking to pet that dog). Staff was friendly and attentive. Great vibes! Will visit when I’m in town again for sure!

Wr have been here twice now with our toddler. Despite hosting a family day with tunes for Tim (tim was great) the whole staff is just incredibly mean to kids. I get it not all breweries welcome childeren and that's ok. But if you do there's no need to be mean to them?! If you host a family day maybe schedule the employees who dont absolutely despise kids?! Every time we visit here our toddler has been treated like he was absolutely not welcome, and he is a very well behaved and friendly kid. No crying or yelling or crazy behavior.

Like their signs says: dogs are welcome no matter how the behave. Kids are not welcome but tolerated (barely).

If you dont want kids just say so and dont host family days.

Loved this brewery!! Super dog friendly (indoor too), beautiful interior with tons of seating, delicious brown ale and ESB. The server was helpful, they had a parking lot (about 8-10 spots) and plenty of free street parking too. Blue Mountain dog food was even giving away free dog food when we arrived, that's how dog friendly they are. Please give some love and visit them, they are an amazing local brewery that treats all their patrons (humans or dogs) with respect and kindness, serving up some delicious beers. Also, it's great for groups, they have a big main area and a big upstairs with a separate beer serving area and lots of tables. Check them out, you'll really enjoy it! And let your friends with dogs know :)

The space is warm and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it ideal for hanging out with friends or winding down after a long day. Their lineup of beers is impressive — from crisp lagers and smooth IPAs to rich stouts and seasonal specialties, every pour showcases balance, creativity, and craftsmanship. You can tell the brewers care deeply about quality, and each beer has its own distinct character while still feeling true to the Midwest style.

Quiet, great atmosphere. Nice bartender and loved the cherry lime sour.

Not everyone here is welcomed.

This is hands down my favorite brewery! Love the interior design! The coolest brewery spot that allows dogs and bring your own food. It’s clean, new, modern, comfortable, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of seating, and elevator, clean and accommodating bathrooms with events posted and tampons and baby changing stations. Great for parties and friend gatherings. I recommend this place highly. They also sponsored the Chicago furniture bank today for the bed race on 9/28/25 (one of the sponsors). They love dogs and it shows. Thank you for caring about our fur babies! Can we bring cats in leashes? :-) nice staff and they are friendly.

They have 3 tables for indoor seating and 16 tables on their patio. Try The Colonies = their English Pale Ale. The BEST English Pale Ale in Chicago!
2025 Update: they opened their 2nd floor rooftop taproom in addition to their 1st floor taproom. When it's nice, sunny, and warm, their rooftop is the place to be!

Drafts, excellent. Service, same. Upstairs 'rooftop' is a vibe.

We hosted a welcome party here for our wedding, and their team was phenomenal to work with!! The second floor space is a wonderful atmosphere. The weather was nice so we were able to open the roof and enjoy the fresh air. There were a few logistical hiccups that were on us, and the team navigated them seamlessly, problem solving them before we even knew they were issues. They were able to put our playlist on their sound system, and had a mic we could use for toasts. Our corresponence with the team leading up to the event was very professional, and they answered all of our questions promptly and clearly. Would highly recommend to others.

Are there better bars out there? Sure. That does not mean though that this bar gets any less than the 5 stats it deserves. In amongst strong competition Midwest Coast has carved out its own unique purpose. Beers shaping up very nicely indeed. Great service.

Our neighborhoods awesome roof top bar! Top class BYOF brewery with a beautiful space and gorgeous roof top with great views.

We go as a couple, as a family, we even hosted our baby shower there and this venue was fantastic at all of it. Walk the dogs down there and have a really good and affordable pint.
