The food is outstanding; ambiance (particularly outside) is spectacular; service is excellent. It's downtown pricey, but for special occasions, this is the place I would choose, particularly in the summer on the deck with the views of the river, the lake, and downtown. Miru is definitely a special, classy place.

We were expecting, or hoping, for more. The ambiance was nice, but the service was poor. It took a full 25 minutes past our reservation time to get seated, and then waited about 15 minutes for our server to come to our table. He was very nice and accommodating once he did, but at a high end restaurant like this one, we expected more. Probably would not go back.

I used to love Miru. The quality and care for the experience has diminished drastically. They over extended themselves on the night of my visit with multiple private parties. This diminished the experience of arriving at the restaurant early to have a drink at the bar and the wait staff was preoccupied with the private parties. I certainly understand the business need, but with the price point of the restaurant and the caliber I experienced in the past my expectations weren't met. I'd recommend folks go to nobu for quality food and Miru of they want a view to take a photo.

We sat outside on the terrace which was lovely. Only drawback is that there were a lot of bugs - perhaps table fans or more candles would help address this problem. It was still a lovely evening, but would have been that much nicer without the annoyance of bugs.

We weren't seated outside as requested. We were told the outside seating was for bigger parties only, then watched 2 couples be seated outside. We were celebrating a birthday, but nothing was ever mentioned by our server and we didn't get the birthday dessert. We weren't up for dessert so didn't mention it (if I needed to). I just thought they might say something since it asks when you make the reservation. The food was very good, but our experience was a lot different than what we expected.

Always excellent! The grilled edamame and avocado are insanely good! So is the avocado crispy rice. Love it and service is top notch!

The food was unbelievably delicious; the service too-notch; and the experience memorable, however, the scorching sun was an issue (5pm). Our waiter graciously moved us to the shade after wilting under the oppressive heat, but had to move us back after a party arrived.
