Not impressed at all. My fish sandwich was very plain.

We went on a winter evening. It was pretty empty, which we don’t mind. But the music was too quiet, the food was just ok (perhaps undercooked?), the menu was inaccurate (they were out of a lot of items), and prices are a bit nonsensical for some things. The fire and tavern vibes unfortunately don’t carry the charm Moody’s used to have. At least the server was sweet and tried her best. We’ll try again in the summer for a pitcher in the beer garden and hope Moody’s returns to all its glory.

Came to Moody’s on a Friday night and it was pretty dead. Maybe 5 other people total, music quiet. When we ordered we discovered many of the draft and wine options advertised on the menu were not available. The food was a bit pricy for the quality. I’m really not sure what they’re going for. Drinks too pricy for a dive vibe. Quality not high enough for an elevated experience. The patio looks nice for the summer months, pitchers are not priced bad (but they were out of many options on the menu). It has the feeling of a place about to close for good. Might give it another try in a couple of months, but would not recommend.

Was excited about this place I drive past it all the time, and while it looks cool inside and out, that’s the only highlight of this experience. Moodys food made me moody, aside from the fries and cheese curds, the “best burger in Chicago” is far from it, it wasn't disgusting but was it worth finishing-no, was it worth going there- no and is it worth coming back-it isn’t. Anyone that can cook decent can make a better burger at home, just not worth $90 for 2 burgers and 2 drinks. Also I asked the waiter if the mushrooms were fresh she asked the cook and he looked and said yes, but they were very obviously canned-eww.

I’ve been to Moodys so many times over the years. But after stopping in this week I will never be back. Place was dirty/sticky as usual, in fact the paper menu was filthy!
But the biggest problem is now the prices, I really wanted onion rings but they are now $12.00 an order, blue burger is $18.00! So if I had a burger, onion rings and a drink, with tax and tip my lunch would have been over $40.00 bucks!
I had to leave without eating and go someplace with reasonable prices.
Guys, I'm going to give you a tip on how to properly cook your garbage fries, from a professional chef, free of charge.
You have to blanche them in 325F oil for 4 minutes. Dump them onto a sheet pan or into a lexan and let them cool. You can pre-blanche tons and keep them in the cooler for 3 or 4 days before they go bad. The second fry is in 375F oil for 3-4 minutes, followed by a decent sprinkle of salt. (That's what makes food taste good and why the food there kind of sucks, no seasoning.) Then they won't be so disgustingly over cooked, yet soggy at the same time; they'll actually be crispy! I know, it's shocking. Stop being lazy and take a little pride in what you're serving.

The fireplaces are amazing to have on a cold day. Great spot for a beer and haven’t found another restaurant where you can get a bottle of wine for <$20. Food is fine. Fries were a little squishy and not fully cut from one another. Wish they’d toast the burger bun and maybe throw a little sauce on it

Excellent fries, horrible horrible waitress. Very rude. Super cool outdoor dining area. Drinks came out warm which was strange. Cooled down once the ice sat in them for a bit.

Had high expectations based on reviews. We ate outside on a Saturday night and left fairly disappointed. There is little to no description of the food on the dirty menus on the table. There were only 2 people servicing the tables, which seemed odd on a Saturday night. We asked for more water before our food came out and managed to finish our food before we got it, so nothing to wash the food down the entire meal. Food was just okay, definitely not worth the price though. Also, who charges for refills on soda? That's ridiculous.
