I’ve been going to restaurants and bars for the last 45 years and Moonflower has become on of my favorites.

This is a perfect neighborhood cocktail bar. It's definitely nicer and more polished than your average bar, yet still approachable and my favorite spot to meet up with friends. A huge shout out to the staff- consistently kind, and happy to make recommendations. To top it off, the food here is amazing, not just your regular bar-fare. I legit come here for a full dinner as well as a drink. If I had to eat only one food for the rest of my life I would choose their cheesy potatoes in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

A great experience from start to finish! Really outstanding service from the event planner. Made everything easy, and addressed all of our needs. The food, service, and atmosphere during the event was perfect. So many compliments from guests of the event. Can’t ask for anything more. Thank you Moonflower for making my birthday memorable!

I had an intimate reception party here and would do it all over again if I could. We booked Nightshade, the bar area downstairs in Moonflower. The space is SO CUTE: green velvet couch, red lights, gold accents - a dark, moody speakeasy vibe. Perfect ambiance for our non-traditional wedding party.
Morgan and Marvin did a fantastic job making the event run smoothly. They were super transparent on pricing and the process, which I struggled with finding when looking at other venues. They were also so helpful during the event itself.
Highly recommend the in-house catering package from Funeral Potatoes. We're fans of the regular Moonflower menu upstairs so we knew the catering menu would be good (and it sure was!). So many fantastic food options- definitely get the maple cashew brussels sprouts & the funeral potatoes.
We also did the open bar package that included cocktails. This was a big highlight, as Nightshade has some really cool, funky cocktails.
The dance floor (complete with a disco ball and neon lights) was the icing on the cake.
Marvin and Morgan were amazing with the logistics leading up to the event and on the night of. Service was awesome, and the staff kept our drinks full all night. I would totally have another event here to dance the night away~.
TL;DR: fantastic drinks, great food, and an awesome vibe. Plus there's a photobooth at the entrance to Nightshade 😈. Highly recommend booking an event here or just stopping in for dinner at Moonflower then heading downstairs to Nightshade for cocktails.

This has been my favorite restuarant in a mile radius of six corners. The thing that makes a restuarant survive in Chicago is the food, the thing that makes it excel is the service, both have been phenomenal. The two servers i have had both made adjustments to my meal with ease and I have been accomedating to me being in a rush and my girlfriend and I wanting a nice sit down meal. Vibes are great and the servers make it feel light. Like other reviews Chicken Sandwhich is incredible along with the crispy fries and kimchi sauce. The funneral potatoes need to be highlighted as they taste like mom used to cook them, and do not taste or feel restuarant style at all, it tastes like a good midwestern home meal. The specialty cocktails are great and likely appeal to most but this is one area of improvement i would like to see if having a couple more specialty cocktail options (maybe adding the bing su from night shade to the standard drink menu?) Lastly, bathrooms were stylistic, clean, and they had nice hand soap which needs noted in today's world. Seriously 9/10. Don't debate this restuarant try it.

I recently celebrated a milestone birthday at Nightshade, and it was awesome! I had a party of 45 people which fit nicely in the basement space between the bar area and the dance floor.
We hired a DJ with help from the Nightshade staff, and also catered the party from the in-house kitchen Funeral Potatoes. Nightshade even worked with me to design a signature cocktail using specific ingredients I requested (including special ice cubes). They made custom cocktail menus for us, and highlighted my namesake cocktail.
My guests raved about the cocktails, the food, and the overall vibe of the space. The staff at Nightshade/Moonflower and Funeral Potatoes were super accommodating to every request and question I had. They even changed the color of the lightbulbs in the bathrooms for me, per my request.
Between the food, 4 hour beverage package, the DJ, my special ingredient requests, etc., we spent ~$140 per person including taxes and tips. It was totally worth it, but there’s a lot of flexibility to accommodate different budgets.
Overall- I can’t recommend Nightshade enough. It was absolutely perfect for me and my guests. You won’t regret booking your next party at Nightshade.

We enjoyed their weekend brunch and I highly recommend the deviled eggs, funeral potatoes, and cinnamon French toast sticks
sticks. Service was timely and food ingredients were fresh. I would go back.

Hosted my partners 30th down in Nightshade - it was a great time. The staff was great to work with, Funeral Potatoes (catered) slaps (go to Saturday brunch), and the ambiance was spot on! For anyone planning an event - one thing to note is their prices are very comparable to other spots in the city (I thought maybe minimums would be a pinch less because the location and what have you) but they were not - pretty standard to the spots I got quotes from in Logan/Lincoln Park.
