Such a hidden gem. Love the food here.It's right across from my gym, so I've made it part of my leg day routine. Weekly specials are pretty good too. 3 tacos, rice, and beans for $10 on Fridays.For me though, the real star is the breakfast burrito. SOOOO GOOD.

Please do not miss out on this amazing neighborhood business! I am so grateful to have Mr Tacos in the neighborhood because it is a cozy restaurant with a tasty affordable menu (try the Gorditas!). Gloria who works the counter is a joy and lovely person. I rarely write reviews but I've seen too many places I love close over the years, and so I hope expressing my appreciation in this way will keep a business I think is awesome open and serving the community for years to come! As of Nov 27 2021, they are totally CLOSED on Sat & Sun.Very good food and super friendly staff...but this place closes early almost every night.The business hours on Google are wrong. The business hours listed on the front door are not adhered to. Call before you go so you're not left standing outside a locked door like I have been multiple times.

The name Mr Taco may very well be misleading .I'd like to make it very clear that the staff is 5 stars . The food on the other hand... not so much. You see this is not my opinion it is a fact that authentic Mexican tacos have steak , cilantro and onion with a slice of lime on the side . Authentic Mexican tacos do not have lettuce and tomato as a default order . Salsas are level 0.5 out of 10 spicy With average taste , green is better . Wow ! The beans are screaming to go back to the can they came from. A very plastic like taste . Rice lacks tomato and seasoning . It is impossible to call yourself mr taco ,make other foods like wings and omelettes , when you can not get your own thing right. Forget the price , work on your food .

Menu limited by Fooda. Either definitive proof that Mexican food shouldn't be catered or that Fooda is failing at its main premise which is finding restaurant partners capable of getting individual portions of food to large groups of people. Mr. Taco's is located well outside of Chicago's downtown core and is always cold on arrival. The few times I've tried to save a few bucks and ordered ground beef instead of the crappy steak, I've ended up with undercooked ground beef. Yuck. Gives me the impression that the restaurant is not prepared for high volume orders. Overall a very mediocre experience that I wouldn't recommend.

Friendly and fast service. Veg tacos had a tiny amount of beans - pretty basic - add peppers. Tasty green salsa.
I am usually not a breakfast person. Had a bacon breakfast burrito that was excellent. The food was hot when we got it, tasted delicious and the sauces were spot on. Francisco and his team did a stellar job with their product. Will be revisiting soon.
