Pretty good coffee served via a walk up window. Nothing wrong with it, just many places for good coffee in the area and not the best one.
Update: The owner asked whose coffee we preferred. We thought Pedestrian Coffee and Brew Brew were probably the best we had this trip.

Cannot recommend.
The pastries were excellent but that is where I run out of nice things to say about this place.
The matcha was decent. The nitro was roughly half foam and mediocre.
The prices, however are borderline unbelievable. A small matcha, a regular nitro and two pastries came out to $35.
In a priceless vacuum this would be a decent spot but there are far too many coffee shops in Chicago and Logan square with better product for considerably better prices.

I may dare to say that this place has the best coffee beverages in the entire city. I love that their seasonal offerings are never too sweet, balanced and unique. They are knowledgeable about espresso and take their time making drinks. I don’t mind the wait as it’s in a lovely neighborhood and there is seating near by. The standard 6 or 8oz cups (not sure which) they use are nice since you don’t get too much milk resulting in a diluted drink. It is also fun the variety of food they offer and they package it up and present it very nicely - these small details count!!
The only bummer is that sometimes the staff can be very cold towards you or quiet. I give them the benefit of the doubt as I’m sure they have to be tired but last time I asked for my cortado in a larger cup or to leave room the barista in the back said annoyed: “you ordered a cortado, but you don’t want a cortado?” It made me feel lame and I had to nervously defend why I was making that request which was that I was saving it for later so I was gonna top it off.
Please be patient as many don’t actually know the difference or meaning of these drinks and their ratios. Besides that you guys are crushing and I will continue to refer you to every coffee lover I know. The prices are worth it as the product delivered is excellent.

I really wanted to support local businesses, so I gave this place another shot after a disappointing experience. I ordered two items online, but when I arrived, one of them wasn’t available at the Logan Square location. Fine, I get that things run out, but the website should be updated to reflect what’s actually in stock.
I decided to give it another try and, unfortunately, this visit was just as frustrating. Nothing was available in the bakery.
I understand things can be tough, but if you're going to offer products online or in-store, they need to be available and of decent quality.

Your customer service/servers are super sweet and professional. But please examine what you're serving first BEFORE you serve rotten avocados to your customers. Once there is black all over it, you need to throw it out and serve ripe, but not rotten another avocado. 👍

I am at Necessary And Sufficient Coffee and I can confirm it is both necessary and sufficient. I would recommend the crabapple syrup and caution future patrons that the seating is outside only so if you plan to lounge at the cafe check the forecast.

Everything about this place is great except for the prices. Staff are lovely, coffee is good, snacks are good.
But these prices are crazy. These are LA/NYC prices for a walk up coffee shop. An Americano being $6.50 is wild. I really hope staff is getting paid well w/ insurance, etc at the very least.

Nice hole in the wall style coffee shop selling classic coffees, specialty lattes and teas (including a sweet corn tea).
Flat white lived up to Aussie coffee standards, and the peach bread was moist and yummy.

I had an AMAZING pour over and ham-&-cheese croissant here. The space was welcoming and beautiful. And I had the chance to meet the owner, who was both professional and incredibly lovely (& coffee knowledgeable). I know coffee and this is my go-to coffee shop for every Chicago visit.

There's MUCH better coffee in Chicago than this place, and the owners pay their employees fair wages without paying the responsibility on to the customers by forcing an additional REQUIRED tip on top of the already high prices.
I'm sure the owner will respond how "sustainable" and "ethical" she is and that is the reason the coffee is priced accordingly. But why not include fair wages in your prices? Instead of double dipping into your customers pockets. So tired of this.
By the way did you know tipping is rooted in racism? Such an antiquated model to continue to use today.

Walked here from my bnb to grab a cup of coffee for the day. Lovely building, no line, and quick service. Grabbed an ice coffee to go and it was great!
