Excellent Food, Troubling Billing Practices
We’ve enjoyed Nella Pizza e Pasta for years, and the food remains excellent. Unfortunately, our recent visit was overshadowed by billing issues and a disappointing interaction. Our beers were charged $2 more than the printed menu price, and our pizza — ordered during brunch hours — was rung up at the higher dinner rate. We were told prices had increased but not all menus had been updated.
The bill also included an undisclosed card surcharge, with no visible notice before ordering — only separate cash and card totals printed on the receipt.
When we explained the unexpected difference left us short and offered to pay the balance in coins, our server responded, “We don’t accept jingle change,” and walked away. Given the pric-ing confusion, the response felt dismissive.
Excellent food, but transparency and professionalism matter.

Amazing food and great vibes. The calamari was super light, crispy, and juicy (not greasy at all). The risotto was rich and creamy with mushrooms, sausage, and truffle, and the walnuts added the perfect little crunch. Everything was really flavorful and well-balanced. First time trying risotto and it was a 10/10. Will definitely be back!

In and out really quick as we were in a rush. No reservation so we had to sit at the high-top as it was crowded. No issues though: pizza was great, service was great, and atmosphere was lively.

The best pizza in Hyde Park. The Cavani was perfectly crisp, thin and slightly charred to perfection. The speck and pepperoni are good but the real star is their crumbled sausage. Service was very prompt, friendly and quintessentially Italian.

Great Italian restaurant in Hyde Park. Pasta was very fresh and the pizza was also really tasty. If you are looking for authentic Italian at a reasonable price this is the perfect shot for a nice family dinner. If you are going on a Friday or Saturday night with a large group I recommend making a reservation. We were able to be seated right away and the service was excellent.

Went here with family and the pizza was top notch. The Neapolitan pizzas were perfectly prepared, and the crust was exactly what I prefer in a Neapolitan pizza– chewy, airy and full of flavor.
Had a wonderful large-party dinner there...the service was excellent, the food delicious and the atmosphere so festive- the energy was awesome. 100% recommend!

We had a top notch dinner at Nella Pizza e Pasta! The pizza is straight out of Italy! Michelin star rated, brick oven pizza and amazing pastas! And you get to watch the pizza masters at work! Love the concept behind the mirror! Pizza Vesuvio was so unique! We got an actual mount Vesuvius - but in edible form! The pasta/gnocchi was also 10/10, and not to mention the lava cake! This place is a must try and (come back to)!
