4.6 stars is very skewed. My experience was high grade mid at best. Pricey for what you get & a few coworkers mentioned the same thing. Although the ambience is great, the cocktails are poorly mixed, and the menu is short lived. We actually had to return a drink because it was kinda gross. After dining in I saw the chef post some weird homophobic racist stuff on Reddit. TBH Don't see this place competing for too long in this area - I would personally never return.

The hits at nettare were fantastic but the misses were also pretty bad. we did the tasting menu with the drink pairing and I would say it was very worth the price. it was a lot of food and they were incredibly generous with the alcohol. my favorites by far were the skate wing and the burnt ends. our server was very friendly and it was cool that all the alcohol came from Michigan. I thought the interior was really nice but some of my friends think it's too sterile.

Review is solely regarding a single cocktail. To say I was impressed is an understatement. One convo from one of the bartenders will justify how much tlc goes into these truly craft cocktails. To my dismay when I arrived about 45 minutes prior to closing then ran out of the most coveted drink which is the "old fashioned pancakes". Normally I'd get up & leave an establishment for this but I figured I drove all this way so WTH. I'm a person who prefers flavored forward cocktails & this was just that. Obviously the walnut ran the show but the balance of the rest of the ingredients were superb. I can only think of other drink in the country that matches this & it's all the way in atl

Service was good but boy was this place way overrated. Beef cheeks is mostly fat (which maybe it's supposed to be) with charred bits that stick to your teeth. They seem to be obsessed with licorice-y flavors (Fernet, absinthe, malort, fennel, dill) which is fine but can't overdo that.. I'd pass this and go elsewhere. Felt trendy tho. It's a real shame!

While new to Chicago, this team knows exactly what they're doing. Everything we had was excellent! Star of our show was the beef cheek - do not miss! I also really loved the salad - so flavorful and fresh. When the energy of the team is right, service is bound to be top of the line and it was. You can tell there is pride and passion in Nettare. These are the spots that make us grateful to have access to such incredible food and dining experiences in Chicago. Also, the vibe is elevated yet relaxed which plays well to their Midwest charm. We will certainly be back and wish the entire crew success in their first year!

Came out with a few girlfriends to celebrate a 30th birthday after a friend recommended we pivot from our usual haunt. So glad we listened, because Nettare did NOT disappoint. What we loved & will be coming back for:1. Service - All of the staff were incredible. We had such a fun time with this group. You can tell they are passionate about food & the art of making a meal from ingredients to prep to final presentation.2. THE MENU - We could not pick a favorite dish. That’s how good everything was. Oh, the drinks were perfect, too. Get the martini with giardiniera. It’s an experience.3. The portions - Great for sharing or resource guarding your dish. Choose your own adventure & you’ll be full but not stuffed in the most pleasant way.4. Ambiance - It’s got this dream-state vibe with dim lighting, plants, good music, & cozy.Can’t wait to go back & bring more people to this place which is quickly becoming one of my new favorite spots.
