Came by here twice, never opened for dine in. When I leave work I always see people congregating in the dining hall but never any customers. Place seems like a front tbh . I call but no sense calling since the number doesn't answer

I do not recommend New Orleans Seafood for dining in. It's small, so even banking on seating would be a risky move. I was pretty impressed by the taste and generous portion size of my small order of shrimp fried rice, and the potstickers appetizer was good. My husband found himself unimpressed with his pork with fried noodles dish. I was highly disappointed in the crab rangoon. They were very small, which would have been okay if they were flavorful. The rangoon had nothing going for it. Our server was not very attentive, and technically, we were the only customers dining in. There was a large table of what must be family members or regulars drinking. It was clear the staff knew them well, as they joined in with them. It was enjoyable to see them having fun, so that is not a slight to them. They must do this a lot, as we passed the place on a Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks prior, and we were not even sure we should go in because it looked closed for a private party to us. In fact, we did not go in due to not being sure what was going on. My biggest turn-off ended up being the delay in them charging my card. We dined on October 26, and my debit card was not charged until November 15. While I was not double-charged or anything, I don't like charges hanging in the balance like that. I don't even remember a time a charge did not appear within a day or two from any service industry entity. There is no ambiance, as seen in my interior photos. It's bare-bones, sans charm. With so many great places in the area, I really believe New Orleans Seafood is skippable unless you're interested in a tasty, affordable fried rice takeout order.

My love and I visited the great city of New Orleans this summer, and since then we have wound up experiencing New Orleans Seafood twice in Chicago. Now I must say I am not big on seafood, so your own experience with New Orleans Seafood may depend on whether you like seafood or not. Our first brush with NOS was actually during the Argyle Street Night Market earlier this summer. They were grilling food outdoors and selling the skewers to passersby at very reasonable prices. My love really enjoyed her grilled shrimp. The skewer of grilled beef was delicious, and the grilled sausage was pretty good too. They do have some outdoor seating, but we ate closer to the entertainment stage a couple of blocks away.We recently dined in at New Orleans Seafood, and let's just say it was an interesting experience. We were the only real diners on this particular weeknight, not counting a few takeout orders and a contingent of locals who seemed to know the owners or are related to them. The contingent was rather boisterous and enjoying good times (and beer) like one big happy family. We sat at this table by the entrance and selected a few items off the menu, none of which were reminiscent of New Orleans. The appetizers were OK (pot stickers and crab Rangoon), though my love did not like these crab Rangoon much at all. She did savor her small order of shrimp fried rice. I was hoping that my plate of pork with fried noodles would be like a plate of chow mein, but I was disappointed with my surprisingly bland dish. The meat was tough and fatty, and the oily noodles and veggies were just there. So maybe you have to make better choices from the menu to have a good meal there.

Horrible place! There was a large group of friends/family (?) taking up the entire SMALL place. When we arrived they said "take a seat anywhere you like", there was only 1 four person communal table to sit, then they said the ok was out getting plumbing supplies. They didn't know when he'd be back...Total train wreck! NOT RECOMMEND

This spot is a hidden gem in the area that provides authentic regional Vietnamese flavors from New Orleans. I've had the fried catfish, calamari, and wings thus far and they were flavorful with a light and crispy batter. Good prices and great for carry out. The staff is also quite nice and friendly. I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu!

My husband got seafood gumbo and stated that the taste and flavor was very good. The reason for the three stars is because it was mostly liquid based barely any seafood in the gumbo. The price is not cheap, we wanted to come back to try the seafood boil, however we are very skeptical being that we feel it may be very little seafood in the boil that is extremely pricey. We understand that restaurants prices are rising, however they are passing it on to the consumers and we expect to get what we pay for. Now its about survival and to survive with these high prices you have to give consumers something that they don't mind paying for.

0 Stars for food safety, 5 stars for flavorFirst of all, I have never been more sick with food poisoning in my life. Use your imagination, it was that bad.The restaurant was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The waitress helped us decide what and how much to order. We got the crayfish, shrimp without heads, mussels, corn, and potatoes with garlic butter and original spice mixes. The waitress plunked this big steaming bag of seafood on our table. They also dropped off a bucket, gloves, and a roll of paper towel. We thought this was so fun. We had to wait a little bit before eating, everything was SO HOT. While we ate, we talked about inviting friends to share this fun place. We left feeling very satisfied.Shortly after dinner, we both had noisy tummies. We wished each other luck before bed. He had good luck. I did not.50/50 chance you have to call off work the day after loving dinner at New Orleans Seafood!

I ordered through Uber and my order was FN AMAZING. Fried shrimp were still hot and crispy and my shrimp cocktail was packed with ice. BRAVO. Will order again.

This is a picture of the $14.95 claypot catfish, which was served to us tonight. The menu description: "Ca kho to. Catfish with hot pepper, black pepper, shallot, and green onions. Served with jasmine rice." It was two small catfish fillets drenched in dark brown gravy, in a plastic container. (We were at the restaurant, seated outside.) I could go on, but I will let the image speak for itself. If you couldn't make it, or didn't have the right ingredients on hand, just tell us. We would have ordered something else. It didn't have to be a big deal, and when we mentioned this disparity to you, you didn't have to shrug and mumble something about inflation.

Our Supper Club had a taste for a good seafood boil and we were not let down. This hidden gem right off the Argyle Red Line is absolutely delightful to the palette. The passionate, service orientated chef/ Owner Kyle views this as a labor of love so you can expect the best. Stop in, relax and enjoy. You will be satisfied.

Our supper club truly enjoyed this hidden jewel. Very flavorsome dishes including superb appetizers. It's byob but why disturb the wonderful flavors.

The best hidden gem in Uptown, possibly Chicago! Stumbled upon it when my go to place on Argyle closed early for the night, and boy am I glad I did! Had the best plate of seafood in a long time. Ordered a combination of shrimp (get head-on!), crawfish (currently frozen, owner expects to get fresh in April), clams and sausage boil. All tasted great and came smothered in delightfully garlicky spicy sauce. We went for spicy, which was really close to medium for my taste - I would imagine if you got mild you may not get any kick at all. Also ordered corn and potatoes which came in the sauce with the seafood and were very tasty. Per owner recommendation, also ordered the steamed fresh veggies and used them to dip out the leftover sauce. I do not recall when the last time was I left a completely cleaned up my plate in a restaurant, but this time I did. The place is byob - i recommend you get some white wine to cleanse your palate between spicy bites. The restaurant is currently a one man operation - the owner cooks, serves and cleans, and what a wonderful hard-working guy he turned out to be! We ended up staying a while after our meal just chatting about the food, his story and his passion for cooking. Let me tell you, I have not felt so good over-tipping after a meal in a long, long time. Dining in a place like that really makes you feel good in your belly and in your soul. Try it out!

Coming from a Sardinian family, I had very high expectations of this restaurant. Wow, did they deliver! We shared our plates:* Inzalara de Birdura cun Acciugasa e Casu: The dressing... holy sh*t. #amazeballs* Calamarusu Arrustiusu- Tender calamari with a punch of basil (great to dip bread into)* Prupisceddu in Umidu- Unbelievably flavorful octopus with a spicy kick (also great to dip great into)* Spaghittusu cun Allu Ollu e Bottariga- This was the showstopper. The spaghetti was perfectly "al dente" and the flavors were so bright. If heaven exists, it definitely has this spaghetti as a main course. (also great to dip bread into... who am I kidding?! Everything is great to dip bread into when you are Italian).
