Friday evening (10/17/25) I drove in from Evanston as my daughter and I wanted Nicky’s shrimp fried rice and chicken and broccoli. We purchased veggie egg rolls and the bourbon chicken as well. Well the egg rolls and fries rice were delicious, but the chicken used in the bourbon chicken and chicken and broccoli tasted spoil. I called in and explained this to someone and he asked that I return the uneaten portion and he will remake it for me. I explained that I reside in Evanston. He explained that this was no problem. I am in the office ( downtown Chicago) one day a week, so today (10/21/25) I returned the food. A guy behind the register greeted me as I entered the establishment, but as I explained my reason for being there to return food that tasted spoil, he instantly got an attitude with me. He commented and stated that people do this all the time, that they eat the food and then return it for a refund or what have you. I stated that the food was not eaten and 95% of it is still in the containers. He asked me what I wanted to replace the items and I said the same that I ordered. He then mumbled something and asked me for my phone number. I explained that when I placed the order, I did not give my phone number so I wouldn’t be in the system. He asked me to call the store so that my number would register , so I did but now that I think about it, maybe add me to the block customer list. Lol. AnyWho, I explained that I wanted to order a large shrimp fried rice and he said no. I said pardon me? And he said no, you cannot place the order because if the food is no good, then you should not want to order. I said no, the shrimp fried rice and the eggrolls were delicious, I want to place the order for the shrimp fried rice. And he said no. Are you guys getting this? He literally said I could never order from the restaurant again. So I explained all of this to say this is the second time I’ve gotten some funky treatment from this restaurant and now I’m writing a review because I feel if I was another ethnicity, I wouldn’t have got treated badly. If they do not want me to spend my money in their restaurant, OK! They win! I will never spend a dime in that establishment. However, I just wanted to post this to let everyone know this is the type of treatment that I received. He looked very shocked when I explained that I drove in from Evanston. So who would drive in from the north suburbs to the south side of Chicago to return food items purchased just for the hell of it? I returned it because I spent over $50 on a meal that I was dissatisfied with. He acted like I had no right to return the food. So you guys can continue on patronizing this establishment that obviously is racist and don’t give a shit about the black dollar.

The OWNER IS VERY RUDE AND DISMISSIVE …. He was irritated because he can’t understand simple English!!! I have a food allergy and was trying to explain to him how to prepare the dish that I have had several times from there ( HE’S NEVER TAKEN MY ORDER). He wouldn’t even let the guy who normally takes the order speak!!! THANK YOU SIR YOU JUST SAVED MY LIFE BECAUSE YOU PROBABLY WOULD’VE KILLED ME BECAUSE YOUR KITCHEN IS NOT CAPABLE OF MAKING A DISH FOR FOOD ALLERGIES!!!

I ordered thru Uber Eats a small Nicky's orange flavored chicken and shrimp with carrots and white onion in orange sauce per UE menu online. This is awful. Absolutely NO tasty flavor not even orange flavor, just super sweet and sticky. This is like all you can eat cafeteria entree. NOT worth $14 bucks. I called the restaurant and was told to complain to UE. I'm UE's customer and UE is Nicky's customer maybe I'll get a refund. Nicky's was the spot back in the day. Delivery cost too much for regrets.

Ordered orange chicken. Delivery. Chicken was so HARD I couldn't chew it. Called restaurant to complain. My only option was to bring it back. I HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION!!! THAT'S WHY I HAD DELIVERY. WILL NEVER EAT NICKEYS FOOD AGAIN. $16 WASTED!!!!

My and some friends place a order yesterday 08/17/2025. And we all order shrimp fried rice and it was all spoiled. I was very disappointed. I came from a far distance. And to be serve something like that is very bad service. The cook had to smell it once to top was off you couldn't help but smell it I believe they just didn't care poor service. We could have gotten sick. Will not be back again very disappointed.

Only take it but you've got to know... They serve BIG FOOD. It was tasty and flavors varied based on the dish... Not like most take out Chinese where everything tastes like the other and it's all sugar.

For a call in order, The 1st one of the day, I called at 10:30 on the dot! The Manager was very rude at the start of her day, smacking her lips and just being rude for NO DARN REASON at All!!! Very Poor Customer Service!!!
