Okay so I LOVE trying new cuisines, and I've wanted to try egusi stew and pounded yam for a while, so when I got to Chicago I was so excited to discover a Nigerian restaurant near my folk's house that had the dish.
It's spicy and umami and savory and just 10/10 incredible. The goat is tender and the egusi seeds have a delicious nutty quality.
The pounded yam makes for a delicious swallow that balances the complex and powerful flavors of the stew....

I love African food. It popped up on my for you page on tik tok. I wanted to try a different place other than the ones I was trying in the suburbs. The food was delicious. And even on my hour and a half ride home it was still hot. I will definitely be back.
