Sat April 12 6pm. Greeted or rather barked at as we entered with a balloon. No hello or welcome. Just barked at. Then went to the back & was barked at again for having come in with 6 people. Was asked if anymore were coming, I said I didn’t know. Was then barked at again when told I should have called to reserve space. Then barked at again by saying there was only 1 bartender which would slow down service & affect reviews. THAT WAS NOT MY PROBLEM. Then was told we (4) wouldn’t receive any service & had to go to the bar to order. The other 2 white people in our party was served by the bartender, we were not. I watched as this ‘manager’ or whoever she was sat at the bar continually drinking & talking & wondered why would a mgr help the staff-since it was needed. Since the restaurant area was completely empty, I went to ask a waiter if we could move in there. I got another dissertation about needing a qty - that I didn’t know. I was afraid to give a too low # or too high # for fear of retaliation bc I didn’t know. I went back to bar & asked Ms. Mgr how I coukd get service. She pointed to the bartender (the first person who barked at me) who looked at me then immediately rolled her eyes & went in the other direction. I gave up & was so very disappointed in a place were I’ve had party’s & much fun before. My friends stepped, ordered my food - at the bar & then others came in and requested that we move to the restaurant area. We did leave some $ & the food was great. BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE??? I & others tried talking to Ms. Mgr 3 times! Three! She didn’t understand that saying hello NO MATTER WHAT is important! But by then I didn’t expect much since she (& her gang) had been drinking & I never saw her help at all. My last & final attempt to talk resulted in her telling she gets ignorant people all the time who bark at her. So instead of her waiting for it, she gave it to us. I told her that wasn’t fair & very disrespectful. All I wanted to do was enjoy myself for a birthday dinner by giving a neighborhood place some $. There were many people present who witnessed & experienced this terrible treatment that know Norman very well & hope this type of behavior is corrected.

Had plenty of childhood memories back in the 1990’s during the summertime R.I.P to Anthony Strong who drowned at the lake back in 1997.

Quietest beach on the Chicago lakefront I bet. Super quaint and chill. This would be my choice for a day at the beach.

What a lovely view of Chicago's famous skyline!

Go to the far side near the wall of stones. Better sand less people

There's a community park on the south east corner of the park. Gorgeous!

Leave before 5 or 6 p.m, it gets pretty ghetto around there.
