Wonderful food, service and a nice table. Even though there was a large party the atmosphere was pleasant and undisturbed. Only comment, hollandaise sauce was not to par but rest of meal was outstanding. Also very thoughtful care for allergies as I am gluten free. Will definitely return.

The happy hour was great and James did a fantastic job. His client centric attitude made our night.

Darron (sorry if i butchered) was an amazing server. The food phenomenal. Everything was just beyond expectation per usual.

Opentable Diner

Great atmosphere and views of the city. Steak was average and undercooked. Baked potato was weak with few toppings. Asked for and got additional sour cream but few to no bacon bits or chives. Chicago has a very high bar for steak restaurants and this one didn't hit it.

This was not my 1st time visiting Ocean Prime as I travel a lot and Ocean Prime restaurant is always on the lookout for me. Me and my family came for dinner here this summer and my lobster linguini was impossible to eat because of the amount of salt it had. I thought my experience at the OP in Chicago was an accident and decided to give it another shot and brought the family that was visiting from oversees. I went with the steak this time and after the 1st bite I thought "God, NOT again!" I kept it to myself as half way through our dinner my guest said "This fricking food is SO SALTY I can't take it anymore!" So it wasn't just my meal that was very salty, it turned out to be everyone else's. I don't eat salt-free food. Quite the opposite, I like salty and spicy meals, but when the salt BURNS your mouth to the intensity you don't even know to grab a glass of water or wine, it's bad. I mean it's PRETTY BAD! After I made the comments to the server back in July, I thought the message was passed, but was I wrong..... Never visiting Ocean Prime in Chicago. The amount of money we spent was outrageous for the meal none of us could enjoy!

We had a really great experience for my bday!! Customer service was top tier! The steak was cooked to perfection, the black truffle mac and cheese was really good and the carrot cake was good as well!

Absolutely amazing meal! My husband and I split two meals and a soup and they portioned it out separately before serving so we didn't have to do it! Our server was very knowledgeable.

Dinner was excellent. Our server, Marin, was a ray of sunshine and wonderful with her dinner recommendations. I wish you could bottle her energy and share it. We had a great “surf and turf” appetizer - the scallops were phenomenal. We shared a traditional wedge. And had a great au poive ribeye. Carrot cake to go, which my wife thoroughly enjoyed this morning. And oh BTW, one of the best Negronis that I have ever had. We will be back. Hopefully with Marin as our server again

Came here for a birthday dinner and I was beyond impressed at how flexible the staff. They readjusted for my party size (twice) and the whole staff was so nice it was beyond amazing.

Not worth the price - server was very pleasant. Food was average at best - not a lot of flavor.

It really breaks my heart to have to write this review because I live in the neighborhood and I am a regular at the restaurant. Yesterday my reservation was never honored. I sat on the bench at the host stand unacknowledged more than 20 minutes beyond my reservation time. No one even bothered to apologize. The hostess had no intention of ever seating me at a table because I was a party of one (although I had a reservation) for a standard table. She kept trying to make me sit at the bar. I explained that I had already been to the bar where they were also busy and overwhelmed so I would just like a table as my reservation states. People who arrived after me with more people in their party were sat as I continued to wait and be ignored. And some man with a large shaggy dog (non-service animal) was in the restaurant bragging about it. Gross! I ended up leaving and going to have dinner at Bazaar Meats by Jose Andres. This one off experience will cost Ocean Prime my repeat business. This is not what I'm accustomed to and I don't deserved to be neglected if I'm going to be spending a lot of money. Do better and get more professional hostesses. They are the face of the restaurant as they are the first people guests interact with before being seated.

Last minute reservation for a work group since we were staying walking distance at a hotel. The food and service were top notch. We had several fish dishes and one steak. The grouper was amazing. Also a huge selection of wine and specialty drinks. I would definitely come again next time I am in town!

I have went to ocean prime in different locations and the experience here was not the same. For a steakhouse the experience was on I'm glad I wasn't in celebrations. The service was slow, welcoming wasn't welcoming, and the food all came out cold besides a he Mac which wasn't a fan favorite. We were told the manager would come back and the only person to come back was our server saying they took off the app and surcharge which was "a good deal" apparently. For the amount you pay you just expect a certain standard that was not delivered unfortunately.
