Stopped in for the first time last night and tried 5 different martinis. All were VERY well made and tasted exactly as described. Wendy was a welcoming owner. Don’t hesitate to try this place out when you’re in the area, if martinis are your thing! You will not be disappointed! We’ll be back soon and thanks again for the tasty concoctions.

Just hit up Olive Black in Lakeview and had a killer night. Grabbed two “James Bond” martinis and a mango jalapeño one, then shared the spinach artichoke dip and BBQ chicken flatbread—so damn good. Vibe’s cozy, bartenders legit know their stuff, and the place is just real Chicago. Will def be back for more. Cheers! 🥂

Stumbled upon Olive Black Chicago last weekend, and it was a delightful surprise. The pomegranate martini was a standout—smooth with just the right kick. We also tried the BBQ chicken flatbread, which was flavorful and satisfying. The ambiance is cozy, making it a great spot to unwind. Spent around $40 for two drinks and the flatbread, which felt reasonable for the quality. Only reason it's not a full 5 stars is that the service was a tad slow, but overall, a solid spot worth revisiting.

I truly have never had such a bad mocktail. It should not be hard to make it taste good since it is usually just juice and sparkling water etc but the margarita tasted like a mixture of chemicals and coat $13.50. The service was also shockingly slow despite the bar being very empty. I didn’t even drink it and went to another place nearby and got a delicious mocktail for $8. Skip this one if you don’t drink alcohol.
Good food, great drinks and a reasonable price. Try the martini flight.
Olive Black is a great casual neighborhood cocktail lounge. Not pretentious but serves up a menu featuring six (+?) pages of martinis and speciality cocktails, alongside a good local beer selection. They also have tvs (for sports games), a jukebox, board games and food, but the best part is the staff! The owners are super friendly and accommodating.
Came by recently and had a wonderful experience ! I wasn’t sure what to get but Chris was very insightful and made me the besttt martini ! Definitely recommend this place

Olive Black is probably the best bar in the city! Wendy and Dan are simply the best. The menu is HUGE and everything is good; you can’t go wrong.

We had a great time talking with Wendy and tasting wonderful cocktails. The atmosphere is very approachable, not at all stuffy. Wendy has some original drinks worth trying and is willing to make your suggestion.
