Great service and amazing food!Highly recommend the pepperdelle shrimp and the linguine de mare. Also, the fact that they had unlimited garlic knots coming your way every 2 minutes had me in garlic knots heaven !

Awesome pasta, tapenade, tasty beef carpaccio. Service was really good. Can complain.

This was a truly bizarre experience. I had walked by this restaurant many times but had never eaten there. When I arrived there for my reservation there was no Pane Caldo signage anywhere. I thought to myself... am I in the right place... am I losing my mind? When my friend who is from Chicago arrived, he wondered too if they had closed and went in to inquire. The woman behind the bar described it as sort of a rebranding and that they were changing there name. It was unclear as to whether there had been an ownership change. Apparently this had all happened in the 5 days since I made the reservation... fishy. Our waiter was not unfriendly but was beyond strange. He seemed very invested in what we ate for dinner and pushed us very hard in one direction or another. He was there and wouldn't leave in some instances and couldn't be found in others. The food was surprisingly good I will say.

This is just a beautiful, elegant restaurant. The food is exceptional. One of the best high end Italian restaurants in the city at an excellent price point for this level of luxury. You feel like you are in that small favorite restaurant you found on that last trip to Rome or the one you wish you had taken.

Waiter was terrible. He didn't write anything down consequently there were errors. We were celebrating a special occasion and our cocktails came out at different times and one took 30 minutes to get to our table. Halfway through our dinner we were told that the waiter was sent home. Tip amounts on receipt were based on after-tax amount and the recommendation was 20%, 25% and 30%. The only thing that was good about our night was that the food was good. Also a very friendly host who actually went across the street to get mint for the 30 minute Mojito.

Dined here for Valentine's Day. It is a quieter place, nice ambiance. Service was disappointing and very slow. It wasn't very busy on Valentine's Day, but I feel like the server was not as attentive to our table as to other tables... Waited very long to order food and drinks. Other than that, the wine was great. They have a great selection of wine. The food was not mind-blowing, but enjoyable!

Had dinner before a play at nearby Water Tower. The food was excellent -- especially the appetizers. Best Cosmopolitan that I've had for a long time. We had lobster ravioli and duck with cherry sauce. Lovely, quiet, modern atmosphere. Food came quickly. The server was a distant and a little arrogant, but all other staff we encountered were friendly.

A lackluster and expensive experience. Very different from prior restaurant of the same name. Duck was overcooked and dry. Other dishes were mediocre. Service was lackluster and inconsistent. All three diners had the same opinion. Will not return there any time soon.

Had wanted to try this little Italian gem in Watertower area for awhile. Restaurant week & a visiting friend provided the impetus. Light, elegant Italian fare with more than a hint of Italia vs the over sauced, oversized American Italian that is too common. Chose a fabulous fresh pasta w rabbit Ragu that did not disappoint. The chocolate dessert, various chocolate mousse selections in a dark chocolate cup w marvelous cream was a surprisingly tasty finale

This was a night out with friends and we were not disappointed. The special (sea bass stuffed with crab) was recommended by our waiter and it was excellent. Service and ambiance at this restaurant is top notch. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet night out.

Italian, yes, but classic and with fish dishes, Mediterranean. Our table if eight had six different entrees. Every one could qualify as the House special. Very competent service that is pleasant and accommodating. The atmosphere is at once dignified and relaxed.

Because we arrived 20 minutes before our reservation, there was a mix-up in who was to be our waiter and we had to wait 10-15 after being seated to get the menu. Pane Caldo took all the blame, however, and treated us royally after that -- re-filled cocktails on the house, etc. The waitstaff is knowledgable and the food is outstanding -- in variety, quality, presentation -- the works. Well worth the price for what you get to eat and drink.

Nice place for a comfortable meal, right off the avenue. Menu reminds me of what we used to see in the 1980s at most "good" restaurants - sauces, truffles, tiramisu - but if done well (which this was) there's still a place for it. We had friendly, if somewhat disorganized, service.

Nice dinner. Was in town for conference and it was very close to our hotel. Had read other reviews about waiters asking what type of water we wanted (still, sparkling) and we specified TAP water, otherwise they charge for bottled plain water-so avoided extra charge for water. They push wine a bit, too. Overall, it was nice. The Amish chicken was delicious, and the red snapper was very good. We went relatively early (6:30pm) and there were only 2 other occupied tables. Prices were reasonable for the location and food.

Love this restaurant and especially like Igor as our waiter. They were able to accommodate a party of 8 and put us in the private room within the week of making the reservation. Igor helped with meal and wine suggestions and all the staff was just very accommodating. The pasta with shaved truffles is outstanding!!
