Well unfortunately I was going to head up north to argyle and Broadway and I was hoping that old Chinatown by cermak and Wentworth would have had Vietnamese rice cake on any of the bakeries. Unfortunately they did not and I was really craving for that. So I chose this one because it was the only bakery that had a sit down. The other bakeries I'd probably have to head back to the car and eat it which I did not want to on the semi cold day. Anyways, the pastries were just meh...
The bread is Ok but not the best in Chicago. The attendants were not very friendly, sometimes rude. Not too much bread to select at the end of the day either, it was 7:00 pm when we were there, and they close until 10:00pm.
I’ve passed by Paris Baguette in Chinatown so many times and always said “next time.” Well… it finally happened. The second I walk in, the smell hit me. Butter, sugar, baked things everywhere. It’s kind of impossible to ignore. What makes it funny is that it’s a French bakery right in the middle of Chinatown. It just works though. Staff was super nice. Smiling, patient, didn’t feel rushed at all.
