The first seafood boil I’ve had was a good one here. I went in mostly curious and ended up fully committed once the pot hit the table. The shrimp were easy to peel, the crab had real flavor, and the sauce clung to everything without turning heavy. Messy in a satisfying way, and somehow it kept getting better as it cooled a little 🙂
Felt like the room was running on pure midnight energy, in a good way. I ended up focused on the spicy crawfish and barely looked up after the first few. Messy hands, big aroma, that deep savory heat that keeps building without turning harsh. The staff stayed kind and quick even with the place buzzing around us, which I noticed. Gao's BBQ & Crab is a nice little place tucked on a side street in Chinatown. The food and staff are great. Skewer flavors are on point, with lamb definitely the best meat. Highly recommend the beef and lamb skewers. The garlic claps slap, and the potatoes are cooked perfectly. Soy fried rice is an excellent base for their large variety of bbq kebabs. The atmosphere is great and the employees are always very friendly. Service is good, though quite slow sometimes. It is hard to find a parking lot, but it is worth all the effort. Online reservations go quick, but getting there a little early helps. Also, a BYOB.
