I live in NE Ohio and had dined in 2024, and gotten a delicious sandwich brought home to me in 2025. Allow me to explain.

In person 2024: never been in Chicago, amazing staff and kindness, my first Malort shot. Amazing locale diner vibes and colors, with modern taste.
And for food…..
Best. Chicken. Sandwich.
I had 4 while visiting.
I longed for the sandwich.

2025:
My bf visited the same area while I stayed in Ohio, obviously a mistake as I couldn’t dine in person and have another Malort shot of sour face and delight. All I requested, in the entire area of Andersonville, was a Parsons chicken sandwich. After a 6 hour car ride, stops along the way, I was welcomed with my sandwich. The only thing missing? The fresh taste, unable with a car drive, yet STILL as amazing.
Parsons forever. I will live for the chicken sandwich

The food: Fried chicken was burned to a crisp. Crust was hard and charred. I commented about it and the server gave me two more pieces but they were as bad or worse. They won't let you pick your pieces.. you have to eat what they want you to eat based on the combination of white/dark they want you to buy. Any customer should be able to decide what they are going to purchase. The sides are big for one person so you end up wasting food or taking it home. Service: slow and inattentive but friendly and nice. Possibly the server was busy on a Friday night, but I sat with no water and no cocktail for about 20 minutes as I tried to get the server's attention to have another drink while I waited on my food. They lost the sale of a high profit cocktail due to inattention. Atmosphere: seats are hard and uncomfortable with most seating choices without a back ( bar and patio) and others just benches or uncomfortable chairs. Considering that many reviews here mention overcooked chicken, you'd think management would pay attention to something that is a common complaint and fix it... apparently they don't care.. Popeye's is a way better choice.

I’ve been to Parsons before and thought it was pretty good. We decided to try it again a few days ago for an early dinner. Let’s just say I was sitting there with the food wishing we had gone somewhere else. Fries did not taste that great, my Caesar wrap wasn’t anything to rave about, Mac and cheese was runny and not great. Not only was the food disappointing but we struggled with having our server check on us. We hardly saw them, only to take our order and make sure we got the food. We sat and waited 20 minutes for our check, trying to get their attention but felt like we were just getting the attention all the other customers were getting. The only good thing I will say is the place is clean and the hostess was extremely nice and welcoming. Don’t think I’ll be wanting to come back again.

Airy, light and super clean place with great vibes. Chicken was delicious, and the Cajun remoulade is the best sauce I’ve ever had with chicken. Definitely recommend

I’m all for crispy chicken, but this was straight burnt. And the chicken itself was so salty it was inedible. Fries were good.

Parson’s in Andersonville is the real deal. I swung by for lunch and grabbed the Hot Chicken Sandwich with a side of Ranch Fries. The sandwich? Spicy, crispy, and packed with flavor—just the right amount of heat. The ranch fries were crispy with a kick, and that ranch seasoning? Chef's kiss.

The vibe is chill, the staff is on point, and the outdoor patio is perfect for a sunny day. If you're in the area and craving some legit fried chicken, this spot's a must.

Best fried chicken in Chicago and best place to get pickle-anything. I love their pickle beer, pickle soda, and pickle spritz. They also have fantastic drinks even if you’re not into pickles.

Nice patio to spend a quiet afternoon having lunch on, but the chicken is occasionally a bit raw, just like at the Logan location. It was worth it for the delicious NA Negroni and lovely house salad, but the thigh I ordered was quite dark on the outside but still seriously undercooked and I didn't have the bandwidth to make a fuss over it and ask for a replacement so I just ate the outside and some of the less gooey bits. I've worked in restaurants before and bone-in fried chicken usually turns out this way when the fryer oil needs to be changed or the kitchen is slammed. This was at 2 pm on a slow Monday, so I'm guessing they just hadn't changed the oil after a busy weekend. Definitely getting chicken nuggets next time since those are harder to undercook.
