First of all I need to say that we are Italian born and raised and as usual we are a bit skeptic when visiting an Italian restaurant... but with much surprise everything was wonderful... pasta cooked to perfection, service is great and they have a great selection of wines. Antoine the owner is a very distinguished and charming man. Our server was attentive and friendly. A beautiful little corner of Italy!
I wanted to love it more because I love supporting our local restaurants. The food was good at best, a little heavy on the salt. Maybe it was an off night so I would check it out again. Our server was very sweet and there was ample street parking on Fulton a Wednesday night.
The food here is some of the best Italian in the West Loop. They make their own pasts and have daily specials like ricotta stuffed squash blossoms or scallops over linguine. They also serve a variety of protein (fish, chicken, beef) so it's not just pasta. We usually share one protein dish and one pasta to get try more options.
