They cannot get simple orders correct. I ordered enchiladas with mole sauce. They gave me red sauce. Then there's magically no record of me saying mole. SHAMEFUL!

I offer no complaint for I blame myself. Last evening I ordered a Carne Asadaa la tampiquena dinner. I had not ordered that in years and years And it was good.But I never asked the price. Called in my order, drove to pick it up. I was shocked when I was told the total of my order. I asked What did I order. The nice cashier said to me that the steak dinner is 37.50 plus 4.00. Seeing the last I ordered that it was a long time ago and maybe 12 dollars. Not to hold up people they were busy. So after the shock I painfully paid my bill, left a tip and departed knowing a steak from Pepe's is nowhere near a 40 + dollar steak. And to go in styrofoam. Not their fault. I did not ask. But I felt the need to warn people.

Drinks were great food was fabulous fast service, but I'm going to give a shout out to the waiter his name is Chaz... Made me feel very comfortable I recommend this place

The worst experience that I had with Pepe’s I asked for a tostada without beans as you can see it’s full of beans and greasy beef also the taco was so heavy from grease I couldn’t eat it asked for 3 enchiladas 2 beef 1 chicken what I get all chicken never will I go back there I will be strictly be sticking to my favorite Pepe’s 63rd Kedzie pissed me off

Cash only establishment. Possibly a problem with clients? Food okay. Off a bit on authentic. Lunch specials are reasonable. Restaurant was clean. Music a little loud, sounded Venezuelan not Mexicana. Most guests wearing mask.

Been coming here my whole life, this used to be my favorite location. Service was horrible I’ve never seen the workers just sit and kick it at the tables just watching customers not a greeting or nothing! The heavy set waitress was ok until my friend and I ordered the “margarita special “ for Tuesday & Sunday, I guess we were being “cheap” I’m not sure but her attitude rapidly declined she walked away with a deep sigh to get our drinks. My friends chicken tacos were wrong I saw her take them to the kitchen , the cook shrugged his shoulders with a so what motion then they attempted to up charge her to correct it. I asked for steak and bean burrito suizo dinner. It took me a sec to see what was off… why are there green peppers and onions in it??? Because it’s cheap frozen steakums meat!!!! I was so disgusted then realized my beans were missing. Waitress thought I’d just accept it, no. It was remade as I watched all the cooks in the back staring over my plate and laughing at it with whoever was remaking it, after 2 bites I was sick and we left, after silently sitting for 20 mins waiting on our waitress who was sitting 3 tables over watching us NOT EAT not once did she ask if everything was ok or are you finished? I eventually had to wave her over so we can go. Atmosphere was insane I thought a customer came in playing music on their phone, it was the cook playing young jeezy on repeat over the music playing in the restaurant. If these are not new owners and it has been passed down this is a true failure to what I’ve known from this location. Save yourself the trouble go to the 63rd location great food, service and the man making the drinks is great!!!! Never coming back to 116 western location.

I've been coming to this Pepes for years, since the 90s probably. It's been great. Recently, though it's on the decline.
I asked was there new managers, I was told no.
The chips were not fresh! They were all broken. They are normally fresh and warm! The totasta suiza had mostly beans, where's the beef??? The cheese was scarce. It's usually lots of cheese.
Where is my guy with the black painted nails??? He's the best!!! These other servers can definitely learn from him.
Bottom line is, I'm going to have to find another location, because this one is going down.
