My first time at a Philz!! They don't have this franchise in nyc and I've been hearing all about it from the west coast influencers, so I had to stop by on my CHI visit. TBH, Philz is just like any standard coffee shop, offering different kinds of roasts, teas, and light bites.

I asked the cashier for a rec and they pointed to the popular flavors. I'm not a dark roast lover, but also wanted a good cup of coffee, so 1 got the Philtered Soul, which is their medium roast. I initially ordered it hot, but it was pretty warm (~50+ degrees, warm in chi standards lol) that day, so the barista gladly pivoted and made my drink cold. They asked iced or cold brew and I said dealer's choice - I got the cold brew and it was a GREAT gamble!!

Loved that there was a cup of free keychains at the register, so I had to take one back w me as a souvenir. Bright spot with ample seating and locals working on laptops. Shoutout to the Philz staff for an overall delightful visit and enjoyable bev!

Nice, cozy lit4le coffee shop. Laid back atmosphere. Friendly service. Chai tea was excellent. So were the cranberry scones. Far better vibe than the Starbucks down the street

The baristas were absolutely lovely! It was my first time at Philz, and they made the experience so enjoyable. They offered great recommendations and were so friendly and patient (especially since I couldn’t make up my mind). The blueberry lemon scone was incredible, and the coffee—wow. You can tell this company has put a lot of time and care into curating such a wide variety of flavors across all roast levels. I can’t wait to come back!

I've been here twice now and the service is always fantastic. I don't know anything about roasting coffee but the people are helpful and kind. The atmosphere is chill and inviting, as someone who might be easily turned off by being in a new place alone, this place was welcoming. Will continue to visit, definitely recommend.

The pastries and iced chai I got were great! I was a bit shocked that the cinnamon roll croissant I got for my roommate was $7.25, but my roommate said it was a solid 4/5, so I think it was worth it.

My other roommate and I also loved our pastries. 5/5 for both the blueberry muffin and blueberry lemon glazed scone. Perfectly sweet with satisfying golden crust. ❤️

Lastly, the employees were very nice, so I'll definitely be coming back. 😁
