Awesome food, Reasonable prices and friendly staff in my personal experience, however, on one of visits I saw a roach crawling by my foot in the center of the place. I decided to look up its health inspection history on the internet and it seems they have not only had this roach problem for quite some time but they have also been behind/failed on other health code requirements. I believe this place located on Bryn mawr has been closed down for a few weeks as of late July-August 2019. Hopefully it is because they are fixing their health code violations. I'm sorry to the friendly staff at pita but I would not recommend buying food here until they fix their roach problem and other health issues. I would give it 4 stars if not for that.

Had a gyro here which was quite odd with chunks (odd already) of undercooked meat. Ordering on their web site took payment but didn't make it to the restaurant. Very kind co-owner though and baked goods available at the counter (baklava and some type of fig pastry) were absolutely delicious. A little menu revamp could do this small place some wonder.

The chicken shawerma is superb. Possibly among my favorite shawerma I've had in a while. It comes straight off the spit before being fried up on a pan, so no drawers of reheated meat. It's flavorful, moist, tender, and spiced really nicely. You can really taste the cloves and turmeric in some bites, but it's pretty balanced. Some shreds are darker than others, so I'm guessing it's a mix of different cutlets of chicken meat. The falafel is excellent too. Fresh, crunchy outside, soft interior, and there is a slight hint of spice. The mutabal is good. It's similar to babaganoug, but it has more of something else in it which gives it a creamier texture. I don't think it's tehine. I prefer when it's very basic (just eggplant, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt), but that's a matter of personal taste. The humus and rice are ok. The people are friendly. Definitely recommending this spot

Food was amazing! Everything tasted wonderful! The flavors, spices and seasonings were on point. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Still dreaming about the Falafel, shawarma, hummus, and tabouleh salad.

Too bad you can't capture flavor in a photo. I had a looong day and wanted some falafel. Hit the spot! The chicken schwerma sandwich is also bomb, seasonings are on point. Also:: customer service couldn't have been better. They were both really sweet and you can tell they work hard

My favorite new spot. Glad I found it on Grubhub. I've become a huge fan. A go to on a regular basis.

Management or ownership has recently changed. I'm so disappointed. I used to love this place but won't be going back. I ordered a pita the owner prepared it. He didn't even cut an fresh chicken. Instead he added water to a pan of dry chicken and apparently used that in my pita. There was barely any meat at all which is entirely different from when they first opened. It was disgusting & tasted like tuna fish. I also believe that I got food poisoning after this order. Due to the major decline in service and quality, I will not return to this restaurant that I once frequented. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. My neighbors also say the same recently.

First - AMAZING shwarma!! Fries were tasty, too. Only complaint is that there is a funky smell in the front when you walk in. It looks like they put in new wallpaper, so it may be due to that.

I can't count how many times I've ordered here before (both in person and through GrubHub) w/ no previous problems, but management seems to have recently changed. When picking up my last order I saw the gentleman (who seems to be the new manager, maybe) finishing up my order but handling the food with bare hands, touching the food directly. I asked politely, "Sorry, but were you wearing food service gloves?" (If you've ever had food poisoning from a restaurant you can understand the need to at least bring it up. Plus I know the food servers here touch all kinds of things like the cash register and money, so wearing gloves is important for food safety.) The man gets annoyed and points to a box of service gloves and snaps, "Do you see it w/ your own eyes?!" Inwardly, I think: Um, I see a box of gloves sitting there w/ my own eyes, yes. What I DON'T see is you actually WEARING any gloves while touching my food. But I could tell it'd be pointless to talk about it with this guy so I took my food and left but decided I'd never spend my money here again. I'm a very understanding person but no one likes to get rude treatment while spending their money somewhere, especially if they're being polite & reasonable customers.
