Easier to eat fish in a can at home, Michelin lost their mind giving this place a star.

Food was great but I’ve never had a worst service in my life before. At some point we just wanted to stand up and leave. It took them more than 1 hour to bring us our wine bottle and 1 and a half hour for the first plate. Unfortunately the Michelin star won’t last that long.

Portugal is such a foodie country with complex flavors, great wine & seafood. I am so happy that Chicago has Porto. I’m obsessed with their squid ink cocktail. They also have percebes (goose neck barnacles) and tinned sea urchin. Their jamon dessert is unique and hits the spot if you love the savory & sweet combo. Their wine list has an extensive collection of reds as well as greens, orange, and wines from volcanic regions that have been aged the old school way, in clay vessels, imparting a barnyard “funk”. Their somm Colin is so knowledgeable & personable. The chef Marco also pays great attention to detail & is very friendly. Check out their Vino & Vinyl on Sunday sometime!

Such an overpriced place, we did not like it and left quite disappointed. The food is super overpriced and unfortunately not as good as we would have hoped apart from the Turbot which was really delicious. The service was super slow, and the waiter looked stressed and rushed. The sparkling water and beer were hot, and no ice was offered even though i requested she never bring us. The menu is super limited and rather boring. The interior design is nice and different. Would i recommend the place to anyone not really. Would i go again there no.

The atmosphere was ok , not a big fan of it . The customer service was not good compare to the quality and the prices for a Michelin Start restaurant . I will definitely not recommend this place if you want to enjoy a Michelin star restaurant in Chicago . I’ll prefer to go somewhere else instead .

Food was good. Server was professional but not personal. The only thing Michelin worthy at Porto is the price.

Unbelievable that this place somehow got a Michelin star. In Portugal or Spain, this place would be mocked and laughed at. The food tastes off, as if it’s a competition to see if people can tolerate off putting tastes yet act as if they like it. Reminds me of an SNL skit about fine dining. Wine list is good which deserves a star. Staff is friendly and adequate. Atmosphere is adequate. Yet the food is overpowering in its incompetence in terms of taste. Frankly I’d rather burn $300 than eat here again.

We had the tasting menu with the wine pairings - it was delicious and the service was perfect. We also had two add ons suggested by the waitress, they were also great. My favorites were the Oysters Two Ways and the Jamon Iberico. The sauces were the stars of the food, always overwhelming whatever they were served with and many times very rich. We could barely finish the last two tastings because we were so stuffed and a tad miserable afterwards but that's our fault for eating it all! Great place, way way way expensive, but worth the experience. Go and try it, go hungry, but maybe don't get the add ons if you're doing the tasting menu.
Parking: Don't forget to click the final submit button when you try to pay for parking via the app and are rushing to get into the fancy restaurant... Had a nice ticket waiting for us afterward.

Dining at Porto was an exquisite experience. The staff was exceptional! Our bartender Jaime crafted amazing cocktails and both him and our waiter Almoon’s insights surrounding the tasting menu courses made it that much more memorable. The food was like nothing we’d ever tasted, we were truly blown away. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Porto ?

The food was absolutely delicious and had some very unique flavours. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. The chefs clearly have a lot of talent and passion for what they do.
Great service and wait staff (except for one immoral item I’ll talk about later). Food was beautifully presented, however, the 10 course tasting menu left me and my wife laughing hysterically half-way through. No offense to the chef, but some of the items like the toast with sea urchin and the monkfish liver shooter made both of us want to throw up.
Super beautiful, amazing customer service.
Absolutely the best meal and experience. The staff was wonderful, the food was inspired and fresh. Definitely a must to have dinner here!
