I came here to get something healthy, light, and vegan. I got the vegan salad in a low carb wrap and the vegan berry smoothie. It tasted great and was what I was looking for just to hold me over. I ate inside where there is a decent amount of seating. The workers were friendly. I would return when I want something light and healthy.

This was my second time at protein bar (the first time, I got a salmon bowl and I LOVED it). This time I stopped in for a Friday afternoon smoothie and I was a little underwhelmed. I absolutely love banana/ peanut butter/ chocolate smoothies and this one was pretty bland and you could tell it was a lot of ice and lacked the depth of flavor that a smoothie should have. Was still very filling, but I'd given the smoothie a 2-3 (esp for being almost $10). The bowls are definitely a 4-5 though! I'll be back for those for sure.

Stopped by for lunch during a trip to Chicago. Highly recommend the Southwest Wrap, it's delicious and so filling I saved half for later. Ordered a seasonal smoothie, but it was bland and tasted artificial, not sure if this was the protein powder? Service was good, front end was helpful and pleasant. Pick up area was good as well.

Review: My recent visit left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I appreciated their dedication to accommodating dairy allergies. The staff seemed well-versed in crafting delicious vegan and dairy-free options, which was a relief for someone like me with dietary restrictions. However, when it came to recommendations, they were just okay--not particularly memorable or outstanding. As for the smoothies themselves, they were neither exceptional nor disappointing. They fell somewhere in the middle, offering a satisfactory but not particularly remarkable flavor profile. The lack of standout flavors left me hoping for more excitement from my beverage. On the downside, the shop's limited seating made it challenging to find a comfortable spot to enjoy my smoothie. Additionally, the absence of bathrooms was an inconvenience, especially for longer visits. Despite these drawbacks, the shop serves as a decent option for those seeking dairy-free and vegan-friendly options. While the smoothies may not wow your taste buds, they provide a suitable and healthy refreshment. However, improvements in ambiance and amenities would enhance the overall experience.

The lady that made my food (several days in a row) is very considerate of my dairy allergy. There has been several situations where I didn’t know there was going to be dairy in my food and she asked me about it and corrected my order based on my food allergies. I’m very thankful that she is considerate of my situation. Most other places or restaurants wouldn’t be as considerate as protein kitchen, but specifically that one worker on North Michigan Ave is awesome. I really wish I knew her name. On my next review, I will shout her name out specifically because she is a great worker.Vegetarian options: Very considerate of my dairy allergy. The worker that I have interacted with has specifically asked me about my food allergies, even after I have ordered my food. I am very thankful for that because in the past, I have ordered food that has had dairy in it without knowing. The worker made me aware of it, corrected my order, and saved the day for me.

The young woman who took my order and made my food could not have been more pleasant if she tried! Her cheerfulness was contagious and I left in a really good mood after our short encounter. She was busy helping another guest when I left so I didn’t get to tell her personally but I hope she is there every time I stop in now that I work up the street so I can get her name!Dietary restrictions: Love the high protein options!

I used to like this place. But today I ordered the Winter Bowl which was supposed to have roasted chicken in it. It did - about two ounces. The rest was brussel sprouts and potatoes. Not a bad combination but hardly any protein. For the price, pretty disappointing.
