I love proxi. Food always delicious. Menus are interesting. Leisurely dining. It's one of my favorite restaurants in chicago.

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. It's our second visit here in the last several months. We eat out and try new restaurants frequently. I think that some of the dishes are the best things in Chicago. This includes the steak tartare that comes in bone marrow and a roasted eggplant dish with a tofu whip on top. Also, the lobster and noodle dish is incredible. We loved the chef when she had her own restaurant in Andersonville (Paserotto) and are so happy to see her back in Chicago.

New chef and staffing changes are a disaster. Food was extremely bland, menu had few veggie options, and staff was very detached. My wife asked for help selecting a drink and our server could barely be bothered. Lucky her. My cocktail came with a charred flower garnish that completely overpowered the drink and made it smell like gasoline and taste like pure alcohol. Will never return.

Overall great! I did write we were having a business meeting/ vines dinner. I wish they sat us at a table with some chairs. Instead of a half couch. However, everyone was very impressed with our meals. And overall had a good time.

Loved the food! Pre-theater menu portion was perfect for me. My daughter chose Chef's menu and she loved it.

Our waiter was fantastic and gave great guidance as to how to order from the full menu, share plates across the table, and have a taste of all the best flavors! At the waiter's suggestion and without pause, we will be returning for the Chef's menu! What a fabulous adventure in flavor! Thank you Andrew Zimmerman!

The restaurant has changed its menu, transitioning from a really creative menu to an Asian-inspired menu intertwined with a Japanese steak house appeal. Unfortunately, not a fan of the limited menu and doubt that we will return. Proxi has been one of my favorite restaurants for the last 7-8 years. Not a fan of its new direction. Beyond that, I waited 20+ minutes for my cocktail which was one of the first things ordered. Came out way after appetizers and shortly before my entree. Sad to even post this.

Everything was excellent. Appetizers and entrees superb. Dessert was good not great. Service outstanding. Owner was charming and gracious. Definitely go back. First rate

Overall positive experience. One piece of concrete feedback the bar stools in the bar were so uncomfortable. Food and ambience and overall service were good - but the servers were a little taxed and probably needed more support. Our entrees were served while our drinks were empty. Food came out fast. It was a busy Saturday night.

Disappointed as I was expecting more from the food. We had the prix-fixed menu with wine paring. The lamb so over cooked we didn't finish it. The yam cake flavorless and tasted like a starch filler at best. The fruit salad was good as was the cooked fish. But nothing stood out as delicious. One of the desserts was overly salted. Will not be returning nor would I recommend this restaurant for the amount of money charged.

The food was incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. We were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace and never felt rushed, which made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. The Scotch cocktail specials were also outstanding — creative, well-balanced, and a perfect complement to the meal. Overall, excellent food, drinks, and service. We'll definitely be back!

The creativity of the food was appreciated. I had the Hiramasa Stone Bowl, rice, spring greens, egg yolk, chojang butter which was very much like a bibimbap. It was delicious as was the watercress salad. I ordered a Monkey 47 gin and tonic and was a little shocked by the $29 charge. It wasn't served with a generous pour with the tonic on the side which would have maybe justified the cost. I tasted much more tonic and struggled to appreciate the gin flavor. Desert was also quite creative. We shared Bubur Cha Cha Coconut Semifreddo ube, roasted sweet potato, kaya jam and a Milk Chocolate Miso Namelaka flourless chocolate cake, sesame milk crumb, rice agrodolce. So good.

Most of the food was good, but the menu was lacking, almost trying too hard to be different. The double baked potato seemed out of place although made us curious so we ordered and ended up disappointed.

Incredible meal. Team dinner, they were able to accommodate vegan/veg friendly for me and every body else was so happy with their steaks. Salads were so fresh. The noodles were a hit. Something for everybody.

Inventive, enjoyable and surprising food at Proxi! Such a fun and eclectic menu. I love that they keep the menu seasonal with fresh ingredients. The heirloom tomato salad was delicious! Many of the food items we received had a similar flavor of smoky bonito. The green curry dessert was surprisingly delicious. The various textures and hint of fish sauce was surprisingly delicious and made you keep on coming back for more. I especially loved the sesame cracker/cookie tuille/flower. Service was excellent. Drinks are STRONG and tasty. Not a cheap meal but enjoyed every bite!
