Went here for restaurant week and it was a really great experience. The staff was really friendly, the wine prices for a bottle were decent and the food was top notch.
Online they said they have complimentary wine tastings the second Friday of every month. I visited and they do not; false advertising. Also they don't list out any of their several drink and food specials so it's incredibly hard to order.
Wow, GEM! Start outside - looks like a giant ball of ivy with no signs. Very cool. Walk in - dark bar, fireplace smoking patio. Deeper in - cushy couches, library theme, beautiful affluent folks in very chic dress, lots of industry looking people (not actors, but the guys behind the camera, scripts, etc), peacocks. Further in - brighter main eating area with a cool unisex bathroom.
Had corporate holiday party there and it was outstanding
Cute wine bar! They do happy hour flights and the "flight" pours are pretty decent! Fun to try different wines. We also got the flatbread to nibble on it was delicious, but you should know it was like a cracker style-flatbread.
I like this place. And I saw that with the Caveat that there are better places out there, imho, but Rittergut is always cozy and inviting for this part of town. They do have a good wine menu and happy hour specials, and the food is pretty tasty, but it's always so dark inside & with the construction on the side of the building the outside seating feels crowded up against Rivers.
Totally fine, but I can never find it from the street! It's kind of tucked into another building. Pronounced "Rit-air-goot".
