The service, the food, the ambience of the restaurant was absolutely amazing! I would recommend 10 out 10, chef kiss! I highly recommend everyone if possible to have this experience.

Perfect day to be seated at the patio! Had a bottle of sparkling, salad of avocado and crab was refreshing and light, the hamburger is one of the best in the city! Service was attentive. Wine though is expensive.

RL doesn't disappoint. Loved our server, Peter. The Cremant is delightful. The avocado and crab salad yummy. RL was packed and we had to wait, despite our reservation. The good news is that we had Peter and a decent table.
Not the service i expect when i come here. We sat in the longue. While our server has been a long standing employee at the restaurant he was not very attentive. He did not come to our table nearly enough to check on is, did not clear our dirty dishes, did not make room for our food and forgot a portion of my order only for me to remind him and he said “oh sorry”. Also bread basket took 20 min to come out. It came out after our appetizer was served. It just wasnt a good experience. And the crust of my rueben sandwich was as hard as a rock. Very very dissapointed for all the money we spent

Everything went well and they helped us celebrate my husband's birthday. After an hour we noticed our table was slanting downwards on one side. Maybe an errant leaf, but after paying so much money for dinner this was disappointing. Hope no one else has this issue

Always a delicious and elegant experience! At this point we've been coming for almost 20 years, and I think we've tried just about everything on the menu. We have never been disappointed! Service is unfailingly gracious and the beautiful decor never gets old. RL is always on our list when we visit the city!

Always LOVE my time at RL. Servers are pros. Ambiance is elegant but not stuffy. Food delicious. Almost feels like a mini-vacation dining at RL. Favorites include their chopped salad, Dover sole, french fries and, really, all their sides.
The hostess sat us at a 2 seat table in front of the fireplace to enjoy cocktails, until our 2 seat table was available in the dining room. Why not ask if we'd like to keep the table we were at? The wait staff was lovely as well as the bartender, but the burger was not as great as I would've hoped... and the seats were all too tight. Practically shoulder to shoulder, not the best dining experience in the world on a Friday night. I would recommend a Mon-Wed lunch instead.

RL never disappoints! We were given a fantastic seat by the fireplace in the lounge where we had birds eye views of all the comings and goings! The waiter was animated and knowledgeable, the food was perfect and the wine list had enough but not too many choices to be overwhelmed. Get the shrimp cocktail and the Pigs in Blankets-- too good!!

The restaurant is very beautifully decorated. The people were smartly dressed. The food was very good and the service was excellent as well. We were seated right away and the table was very elegantly set. I do recall this restaurant although the prices are high.
I've always enjoyed RL in Chicago however this visit we were greeted with a hostess that was clearly having a bad day. It takes a team to make things great. Food was good not great. Server did his best to make things good for us.

RL is a very lovely place. Some food is excellent and some of it is just ok or I would recommend skipping it and ordering something else. This trip we had the crab salad, lobster bisque, dover sole and the veal chops. The crab and avocado salad was excellent. It could have used a touch more vinaigrette dressing. The lobster bisque was very thick and heavy on the cream with a tiny bit of lobster in the middle. I'd suggest skipping this item. It's not worth it. Same with the Dover sole. By the time the waiter filleted and served it table side it was cold and tasted like rubber. The lemon butter sauce was heavy on the chives for some reason. I would definitely skip this item. The veal was just ok. Nothing to get excited about. For dessert we had the blueberry pie with ice cream and the coconut cake. Both were outstanding. I ordered a diet coke. It comes in a small glass bottle and a glass of ice. However, the bottle of soda was warm which once poured over ice makes it go flat. Please chill your bottles of soda!

Fantastic drinks at the bar, delicious burgers and fries, superb ambiance. Enjoyed the night out with my soon-to-be son-in-law. The staff was phenomenal. Put this place on your to-do list when in Chicago!
