The most horrific experience I've ever had at a business.
A friend ordered a dish, doesn’t wat meat and asked the cashier if she could substitute with toast and consulted with another barista who said yes to the substitute.
One of the two women comes back and says the manager says we can't substitute. The manager comes out and literally says you can't have toast as a substitute, it's my restaurant, I'm the owner, and you want to have it your way. 😮 My friend tries to get the toast anyhow as she always substitutes at places but he goes on to bring McDonald's doesn't do this, but it does and you pay for what you purchase. She even said I'll go and add the toast He stormed off with the ticket and her food order number without clarity on what she wanted.
The order was brought out and after such POOR treatment and not receiving the toast, she walked her order back up and he came out ego forward and said she was on BS and was being petty, and said he asked if she wanted the order or a refund, and she reminded him he stormed off.
It was THE WORST EXPERIENCE ever. I immediately lost my appetite and decided I'd leave a review in real time along with leaving my meal unfinished.
This was a placed I enjoyed coming to after church, all the way from Milwaukee, and brought ny friend along ONLY FOR HER TO RECEIVE SOME OF THE WORST EGO DRIVEN TREATMENT EVER.
Based other reviews I read its clearly a spirit that comes from the top down and so I'd recommend folks NOT support this establish. Customers are not first, his ego is.

I was very excited to experience this corner cafe only to find the OWNER not employee Not manager OWNER! The woman who took my order promised toast in place of meat that came with the grit bowl I ordered. He (owner) then says no he can’t sub the meat for toast I asked why and blew a gasket telling me I could go elsewhere. This was his establishment if I didn’t like it get out! Proceeds to snatch my ticket and storm off with sass and ego. I’m waiting to speak to anyone while deciding whether or not I was still going to eat here because my girlfriend’s are already eating. Then decide no thanks to that energy being responsible for my meal. They bring the order out (without toast) I decline and he refused a refund with sass and ego calling me petty. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, definitely not people of color. Respect should be a non negotiable when and where we choose to dine.

First time here and I will be back. Really liked the ambiance and food. The food seemed really fresh. I had the avocado toastband the bread and avocado was so soft and rich. I also had some tea and was was surprised how large a small cup was. Lastly I liked the ambiance and neighborhood feel.

good atmosphere, coffee, and food, and the prices are not bad. the employees are kind too. i like this place.
Nice place, music is a bit loud so if you're trying to study it's a bit difficult. Also, the flies in this place are annoying at times especially when you are trying to eat and it's just simply not safe to have flies landing near or around food. They DO NOT answer the phone here I've called several times to bring this issue to management and no response.

Robust Coffee is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Jake is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing brisket grilled cheese. Must come back. 10/10.

I just love this place. Nice, quiet, chill cafe with WiFi and soft music. You can do homework, work, or just go for chat with a friend. My favorite is the Elvis smoothie or honey nut latte and a turkey sausage breakfast sandwich on English muffin. Prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly.
