After work happy hour atmosphere. Tried the tasting menu around the bar - not feeling like the best place to try tasting menu. The only good one on that $115 menu is the lion mane. Other food very ordinary, and not really enough portion. The dessert is perfunctory and boring - just sorbet. Tried 7/28/2024

With a reservation , we waited to be greeted for at-least 10 mins. The manager clearly walked by and didn't even acknowledge us, nobody did. The only reason we didn't walk out was because it was too late to go grab a table without waiting somewhere else. Food was fine... just fine. Our server was great however. $200 I will never be happy I spent.

We came for the Chef’s Tasting Menu last night. Due to road construction we were 15 mins late for our 7:30 reservation and apologized numerous times. They were understanding and even said no worries. We ordered a cocktail and told them we would do the wine pairing as well. Our server and the server assistant delivering everything were delightful. The first course was the fried chicken and caviar which was perfect! The courses that came out were all delicious. They were not rushed and definitely spaced out. The kitchen started to clean up at around 9:00 and we hadn’t even received our last 2 courses. By the time we received our last course, it was 9:40p and we still had one more wine pairing and dessert! It was very obvious the enter staff was ready for us to leave and I went ahead and asked for the check without us even finishing our last course. They said no it’s ok but we didn’t feel welcome being the last customers and felt very uncomfortable and VERY unwelcome. They brought dessert with the check and we took 2 bites and high tailed it out of there a little after 10p. I most note too there were many reservations for later than ours. I am so disappointed because the food was wonderful and atmosphere was great at first. But then it took a HUGE downturn. I understand we were sitting at the Chef’s counter and I’ve managed and worked in many restaurants, communication goes a long way! Had one of the chefs asked ‘will it bother you if we begin to clean up but please take your time and enjoy the rest of your meal’ this would have salvaged the night. I am still so upset how a wonderful meal was ruined by the unwelcoming attitude of everyone at the end of the night. For $500+ I expected impeccable and welcoming service.

Disappointed considering the price point. The fry bread was a delight, but everything else was below expectation. Most plates were far too salty, which really detracted from the food. Who is doing the quality control or final seasoning?

Roister came highly recommended so imagine how disappointed we were.
We felt like our seating time (8:00 pre-paid chef’s table reservation) was inconvenient for the staff. It was as if we walked in 20 mins before closing.
If you all don’t want to serve the tasting course that late, don’t offer it at that time. Also don’t text someone FIVE times to come in earlier.
Paying extra to sit at the chefs table felt like a waste of money. We got the equivalent of a servers explanation for each item of food instead of a slightly more in-depth spiel. At least two of our items were prepared by a junior chef behind a roll of clear wrap so we weren’t able to get nice videos.
The tasting itself was fine but its order felt out of place with all the “heavier items” one too of each other. A nice opener w/ the fried chicken and caviar. The seafood was lovely (1st- scallop and 2nd- crab curry) but the items following were a miss. The Lion’s Mane was too close in texture to the scallop. The Gnudi was fine but the smoked ricotta was a lot. The beef cheek I fully understood was salt cured for a pastrami-esqe taste but it was too salty and neither sauce had enough sweetness or acidity to cut it. Cutting the cherries (garnish) on the plate was the only thing that helped it become edible.
The dessert was also disappointing. The mango sorbet seemed promising as a light finish until it was drowned in the isi coconut cream cloud.
For an anniversary dinner (that was never acknowledged btw) we felt like we overpaid and would’ve been better off elsewhere.

A shell of it's former self. While the menu is essentially unchanged, the quality of the food - and service is drastically worse. No wonder there were open tables on a friday night. Everything was over salted. The fried chicken was dry. The duck was a bright spot - but still not close to prior visits.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. Their style and decor are on point. The service was professional. The food was delicious and tasty. They have a white variety of appetizers. They also offer a tasting menu which was well picked.

The roasted duck was delicious and tasty. Their desserts were sweet, especially the Basque cheesecake.

I would definitely recommend visiting this place for dates and events.

Ate here once 2 years ago and was great. Showed up tonight with a reservation, no waiter for 20 minutes so we left. Couldn't believe it. Bus boys and hostess were great.

That duck for 4 is the move. You will not be disappointed. Also get lots of drinks and dessert

It was very empty for lunch but was a good casual eatery, standard American dishes! There were only a couple of choices as I assume it was very limited menu versus dinner but they were all good and we sat at the bar so could see the chefs all prepping for dinner service. I had the beef au jus and honestly it was too much food and enough for two portions for me.

We visited with our 1 year old while vacationing. It was our way of trying Grants food without going to a bucket list restaurant Alinea. Reasonably priced for the quality of food in a trendy part of the city. We went with some a la carte dishes given we were on a tight timeline but the tasting menu looked amazing. We enjoyed every plate and they accommodated our family.

Brunch/lunch menu is a little light on choices though nothing failed to impress. Fried chicken sandwich and fried chicken on waffles between us. Not sure which was best but both spectacular, light, crispy and distinct.
