Happy to relay that our dinner experience here was great as usual. The sushi is excellent as are the pork ribs, wagyu beef dumplings and their various "classics"; truffle rice hot pot and lamb chops. Everything was very tasty and we loved the desserts too!

This was a very happy accident. We were not able to get a table at our usual places we have enjoyed in the past. I found Roka while scrolling through Open Table, what an incredible find. The food was innovative and delicious, and also identifiable. Sometimes you go to a restaurant that tries to be different and you have no idea what you are actually eating. My husband was able to get his steak exactly the way he likes it (only one other restaurant cooks it the same way) and I had lots of choices for hot food as a vegetarian. The service was excellent, timely and attentive. The restaurant is very loud on a busy Friday night, but totally worth it. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. This is now in our top 3 Chicago restaurants.

We had a meal that we didn't expect. What's a Japanese Steakhouse anyway? We were planning on fish being the top courses—not. They only offered two fish entrees and, of course the sushi—nothing exotic, but well prepared. We had the most marvelous meats. They were all sharable portions and delicious. The bill for three people exceeded $400.00 so be prepared to melt a credit card. It's worth it for a special occasion.

My husband and I frequent this location because of the bar staff. They are so thoughtful and their service is top notch. Even when they are busy they are always attentive. They are truly amazing. My husband and I will have dinner at the bar at LEAST twice a month and we try to go weekly if our schedule allows it. The food is always on point. The drinks are perfect- even though I'm drinking mocktails- Lupe goes out of his way to make me a special non-alcoholic drink that looks as good as it tastes. I still feel fancy. Lol.

The superb service wonderfully complemented the very amazing cuisine. Each dish was exquisitely presented and bursting with real Italian flavor. From the beginning to the end, the eating experience was genuinely delightful due to the cozy and welcoming ambiance. I would gladly suggest this place to anyone searching for a genuine, atmospheric Italian supper, and I have no problems at all. A fantastic evening overall!

I’ve eaten at Roka Akor several times over the years and have had good meals. Tonight was different—-the food was mediocre and the experience sucked. I ordered a NY strip steak and was given chopsticks to eat the steak which came sliced. I didn’t really want a sliced steak nor do I eat steak with chopsticks. The bartenders were having a boisterous and noisy conversation with the people sitting next to me, including using profanity. Not a fun experience all around.

Amazing food! Perfect service. We tried the OKAMASE Signature to enteust the chef. It was a journey of taste. Every course was better than the previous, but the risotto maybe. Only issue, the place is just kind of too loud to enjoy chatting with friends.
