A solid restaurant if you want good Italian food.
I wouldn’t say that I found anything was really standout-ish about this place, but that doesn’t mean the food nor establishment is a good place to go.
I had the Tagliatelle Bolognese which was pretty delicious and hearty. Although, some in my party had the Rigatoni alla Vodka, and their expectations were not met. I had some and it seemed a bit rubbery.
Nonetheless, I’d visit again. But yeah, it’s a typical Italian restaurant. I wouldn’t expect anything unique or like these dishes are super different than the next place over.

Returning to the Fordham after 5 years... Rosebud on Rush was one of the things we missed most... Happy to report that it's only gotten better over time... Great wine list!! Great menu!! Great staff and service!! Nice when great things "don't change" with time...
We were a large group and we probably even overstayed our welcome, which was so nice of them to accommodate us. The food was delicious and the service impeccable
I was quite disappointed with my dining experience at Rosebud on Rush on 11/25/25 (2:00 p.m.). My dining guest and I were seated on the heated patio area. The seating was truly uncomfortable (tables were shaky and unstable), and there was way too much noise. I couldn't even carry on a normal conversation with my dining companion. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about; in my opinion, it was overpriced. Service was sub-par. We felt ignored by our server. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
We had a great time again this year thanks to Angela S! She always makes my family and I feel at home when we visit. Can't wait to return next year!
LOVE LOVE LOVE ROSEBUD ON RUSH! It's so fun to take people here, and the hospitality of Guillermo and the team there is always spot on. We had Angela as our server and she is outstanding. We wanted for nothing, and her support staff were all over it. Especially nice of them to wrap our leftovers since the portions are so big! The dining room was buzzing, and the vibe is exactly what you want from a Chicago red sauce joint! CHICKEN VESUVIO was the best thing I've eaten in a while....and can't wait to eat it again when I get home from work tonight! My pal had the Pasta de Mare Special, and it was gigantic and stuffed with tons of clams, mussels, fish, calamari with a perfect broth and noodle. The Lasagna was enough for two, and looked to be about 5 layers. And excellent Salted Carmel Gelato and Tiramisu. Thanks everyone, looking forward to see you again soon. TD
Food was okay but definitely not worth the price. The carbonara was $30 and the sauce was dry and not smooth. The lasagna was not tasty. The waiting staff kept asking us if we were done which put an unpleasant rush on our experience (We had only been there for 45mins). They added a surcharge at the end of the meal to the bill. The Cosmopolitan cocktail tasted like pure vodka, it was undrinkable. Overall, very unfairly priced. The room was very dark I had to use my phone flashlight to read the menu. Would not recommend. Will not go again

Bartender is amazing! Went for dinner solo and sat at the bar. I was as comfortable as unwound have been at a table and had ample space for the food I ordered. Must try Caico e Pepe!

The Rosebud is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Alex is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing chicken vesuvio. Must come back. 10/10.

Choose this place based on reviews and availability last minute on a Saturday night. Entire staff need to take a smile/mannerism class. Side eyeing and rolling eyes are unacceptable. We had to flagged them down for more bread. To be honest, food was mediocre at best. Chicken breast was too dry, Alfredo sauce lacked flavor. Only dish that was good was their signature whole chicken. Avoid this place if you have hungry teens with you.

Incredibly rude staff completely avoid this place
This was some of the worst food I've ever received in a restaurant. We arrived at 9pm on a Thursday and the restaurant was nicely busy. We were a table of 4 and quickly ordered an entrée each and a bottle of wine.
We were served a bread basket with slightly stale bread but worse was to come. I had ordered the chicken Milanese which was very bland and absolutely swimming in oil. My friend ordered the fillet selection which was tough and had been over seasoned.
The remaining 2 in the party shared the carbonara and lasagna. While I didn't taste either, neither are much and we're not complimentary of their dishes. We all left hungry.
This restaurant is very well reviewed so they maybe had an off day but I would not go back

Went for a birthday- greeted acknowledging birthday- wonderful meal- was a bit chaotic/super busy that night so service was a tiny bit frazzled, but still an outstanding meal and we will return!
