The best taco place in Pilsen. Atotonilco has dipped with respect to quality, so Rubi's now takes the top spot. Last Sunday must have been a fluke cos I had their typically delectable tinga tacos and they were dry. For some reason, the meat was totally white in color with very very little red tinga sauce. Basically, it was a chicken taco without the tinga. Hope this doesn't happen again.

I’ve been wanting to stop by since forever and I’m so disappointed with this place. I got an Al pastor and asada taco and the only good part were the tortillas. The meat had absolutely no flavor. The asada somehow tasted like beef liver and I couldn’t even finish it. I honestly don’t understand the hype.

My friend and I went for brunch after church on Sunday, march 17, 2024. The restaurant is small and cozy. Love the brick walls. Friendly employees. I had the huitlacoche quesadilla (no meat)for the 1st time. It was delicious. I don’t drive but I’m willing to take public transportation back to Rubi’s.Many Mexican restaurants say they have the best food only to be disappointed. Rubi’s is one of the best.Vegetarian options: Corn smut quesadillas and tacos.mmmmgoood??????????

These tacos were amazing! Tortillas are homemade and don’t fall apart. Good size too, bigger than the traditional taco. I tried the pastor, lengua and chicharrón. They were all good. My favorite was pastor. There’s many different homemade salsas. Sitting is first come first serve. The staff was super nice and friendly. The owner was there making conversation and recommended different salsas.

Possibly the best tacos in Chicago! Featured in F, that's delicious, and Netflix taco chronicles. However, I've been eating Rubis since Maxwell street market days and they have not skipped a beat! Definitely must try!

Food was ok. Unfortunately did not live up to the hype the steak was not the best quality kind of chewy. Service was great. We came here on a Saturday we waited in line for about 40 mins the restaurant was very crowded. Don't be surprised if you must share a table with other diners. The restaurant was nicely decorated very Mexican Mercado aesthetic.

Soooo good! Some of my favorite tacos in the city. $5-6 per sounds like a lot, but the portion sizes are veryyyy generous- I'm good after 2 tacos. Try the mole!!!
