If you get take out, confirm lids are secure. The employee placed the coffee lid and was not even the right size. Walking with it led to coffee spilling all over the bag, coffee cup, clothing and shoes. Even after tipping, furious and dissatisfied with service and food.

UPDATE Nov 13, 2025: The restaurant immediately contacted me and apologized for the packaging failure resulting in coffee spilling everywhere. They offered a refund which was appreciated. Thank you for fixing the situation and I hope to be give the food another shot with a more pleasant experience.

The baco buns got soggy in a not so good way making the experience just ok as I tried the chicken and duck baco.

Every visit to this Saucy Porka location is great and my latest experience was no exception. The food is consistently delicious. The veggie egg rolls are perfectly crisp and fresh and the beef egg rolls are just, good! And you can't leave without trying the beef bacos; the meat is tender and seasoned well and the buns are soft.
Beyond the food the service makes this place shine. A huge shout out to Danica and Jessica for always going above and beyond. They are always friendly, attentive and welcoming. Their excellent service is a big reason why I keep coming back!

Small caveat, I did find it slightly expensive. However, I'm also a suburbanite that's not used to city prices. But when it comes to the food, everything was absolutely AMAZING!! It was perhaps one of the most delicious meals I've had in a long time. If it was closer to my job site, I would go there everyday. Whoever the chef was during lunch on 10/16, you've earned all of my respect!!

It was alright. Not great. I found my shrimp po' mi to be light with the shrimp, heavy on the cole slaw and mostly bread. Shrimp and Chipotle aiole was good, but I could have used more sauce. I also ordered the sweet potatoe fries which were soggy, but sauce was delicious.

Ordered through DoorDash for lunch and honestly quite disappointed. The duck bahn mi lacked flavor. The bread is not toasted and the vegetables don’t have that pickled fresh flavor. Basically tasted like any other sandwich. Next was the tostones, these were decent. Really good with the curry aoli sauce.

Overall, can’t say I’d order from here again.

hole in the wall banh mi + vietnamese restaurant, decent prices for sandwiches (around $12-15 depending on the meat you choose). some fun drink options and sides to choose from. there’s space for seating inside and the service was fast! would definitely recommend for a quick lunch if you’re walking around the city

Pork is good but overall just okay.
Chorizo egg roll was worth it though.

Saucy Porka in the South Loop is a gem for fusion food lovers. I tried the Ropa Vieja Beef Banh Mi, tender beef with a kick of kimchi on a fresh baguette. Added a Chorizo Egg Roll on the side. The Funky Monkey Fries were a standout, seasoned fries loaded with beef, cheese, and jalapeño aioli. The place has a chill vibe, and service was quick. Spent around $24. Definitely coming back for more.

The food is expensive for what you get. It lacks flavor and most of what we had was quite dry. Can’t say I’d recommend.

If you're looking for some next-level comfort food with a twist, Saucy Porka is your spot. I tried their Pork Belly Bao and the Yuca Fries, and let me tell you, the flavors were fire. The fusion of Latin and Asian ingredients works way better than you'd think – the pork belly was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the yuca fries had this perfect crispy crunch. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. I dropped around $35 for the two dishes and a drink, and it was totally worth it. The vibe in here is chill but buzzing, and the staff was super friendly. Definitely coming back to try more from their menu!
