Scooter's Frozen Custard

It was good. Line was outside the door. I gave three stars because I ordered custard sundae and I got icecream but I guess it’s called custard here. I’m. Not use to this custard. But overall it was good

Great summer spot! Go classic vanilla and sprinkles, or full out sundae. Try the flavored ice with a scoop of custard, you won't regret it

I visited recently for the first time (around 4PM on 7/3/25, if anyone of consequence is reading this) and the visit left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. It wasn’t busy when I was there but the employees seemed like they could not give me the time of day when I walked in the door. Absolutely no professionalism, no greeting, no eye contact, everything about the way they carried themselves was off putting. The young girl who took my order was leaning over the counter so much that she may as well have been laying on it. Just felt very rude. Once I got it, the food was fine enough but I was left with even more of a bad taste because while I sat in the dining room eating, the girl who took my order proceeded to talk shit about another employee who was not present, and all the other employees (manager included) just smirked and let it happen. Why have a sign that asks customers to be kind as many employees are new if you clearly aren’t going to hold your staff to the same standards? TLDR don’t let your employees talk shit in front of customers because you never know who might be listening. I absolutely will NOT be coming back again, I don’t care how good the custard supposedly is. There are plenty of friendlier businesses in the neighborhood I’d rather give my money to.

Best custard ice cream in Chicago... my favorite is toffee flavor & cookies dough

Definitely the best custard in the area, but be prepared to wait in a long line. I must have been in line for the walk up window for an hour or more. That said, the concrete flavors are creative and have lots of mix ins, and I definitely enjoyed the Caramel Fudge Nut Brownie Chip (aka CFNBC).

I only ever get the ‘Elvis has left the building’ because it’s that good. Banana, custard, and Reese’s…the perfect dessert!

A sad day when Scooters closes for the winter but we add their spring opening date to our calendar each spring. Scooter's is our favorite place for frozen custard. The menu has great variety but we always seem to go back to our favorites. We particularly like the walk up window during the summer.

This establishment is an excellent choice for enjoying ice cream. However, I highly recommend walking to the location, as parking at the Walgreens across the street may result in your vehicle being booted shortly after you leave the premises.

Parking: For your convenience, I recommend walking to the location, as double parking is not advisable due to limited wait times. Additionally, please be aware that parking in the Walgreens lot may result in your vehicle being booted immediately upon your departure. The Walgreens parking lot has staff monitoring for violations, and if your vehicle is booted, you will be required to pay an on-site fee to have the boot removed. Otherwise, your vehicle may be towed.
