back before Covid 19 we ate here. The food was delicious, and we loved the atmosphere.

Great Prime Rib! We could smell it from the street, that is what attracted us. Our server was not great!

Nothing very special to note about this place. Waiter was attentive and that wasn’t an issue. The French fries were tasty, burger was okay, drinks were pricey and not enough alcohol for $13/$14 a drink. Like many Chicago restaurants, disappointing.

We came here for a date night and even mentioned it in the reservation. We came and were sat in an isle way where there was quite a bit of traffic, even considered asking to be moved but we stayed. We ordered 3 items, beef short ribs, fried chicken, and fish & chips. The ribs tasted great but far from tender meat. The fish was very bland and fries too salty. The friend chicken was actually pretty good, crispy skin and soft meat. For dessert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding which was quite good. Overall it is not a bad place for food but prices are far too high for the quality.

Amazing prime rib sammy! Melts in your mouth along with the BEST tasting au jus!! Hand cut French fries were great and the Spanish octopus with micro greens were super tasty!

Horrible Restaurant - We dined in for my wife's birthday in January. The restaurant advertises Prime Rib, yet when we went they only had Medium Well to Well Done Prime Rib. They tried to serve us Medium Well, when we asked multiple times for Medium Rare, which is highly disappointing the cut they gave us was completely dry and definitely not worth the $60 cost. They even claimed to have gone next door to their sister restaurant, Lawry's the Prime Rib (which of course should always have Prime Rib of all types), which had none apparently. We flew all the way to Chicago specifically for this, and they couldn't make it happen. Very disappointing, and when we reached out to their management the GM refused to call or even speak to us about our issues. Terrible management, we don't think we will ever be back.

Loved the atmoaphere of this restaurant/lounge/speakeasy. And service was friendly (on a somewhat slow weekday). Food was good, but looked a bit better than tasted. Salmon tartare needed more flavor. Pastrami sandwich was flavorful but much too oily. Large drink and inventive cocktail list. I would recommend and would return if in the area, but would order something else.

I've always wanted to go to Lawry's, but we were a group of families with the kids and this was much more casual. They share the same space but the ambiance is very different. SideDoor has a really nice atmosphere, a good Old Fashioned, and the best part is that I was still able to have the prime rib from Lawry's! The mac-n-cheese was amazing also...my kids didn't finish it so I did what all dads do. Delicious!

Booked this place on Yelp.. Good menu. Food was good. Attached to Lawrys. Cody-good waiter. I love music, but I don't like music out of tinny crappy speakers turned up with bad tunes from the 80's. Unsettling, distracting and discounts the relaxing murmur of human conversation. What up with that ? I aggressively asked the check in gal if it could be tuRned down but that was evidently against the ambiance standard of the place, or I was too aggressive and she didn't like that. Maybe I just feel like griping but I was not relaxed at this place. The food was good.

Best prime rib dip ever. Try the short ribs appetizers you will not regret it.

Just an unfortunate experience. So excited to adventure to a new Chicago gem. Food = amazing. Atmosphere = exactly what you need on a cold, winter night. Service = so, so rude. From the beginning it was sarcasm. Unwelcome and not necessary. At the end we said we're ready for the checks. Instead of asking how to split the checks because there are six women at the table, he brings one. When we ask for the server (minches) to split the check, the server got frustrated and said we should have told him that. Well, you should have asked too. Again, six women/friends. Why would we all be on one check? He got flustered and said, "Well I don't know what each of you had." So we said, "Well we'll tell you." So we went around the table to tell him what we had and he REWROTE it down. When he returned with separate checks, he decided to school us. "Just so you know you should tell your server from the start how checks are to be separated. Not a lot of work, just buttons." Again, six women, so please ask us how we want the check split so this wouldn't have happened.
