I love Small Bar but they have probably one of the worst pickle backs I have ever had. Everything else was really quite good, I enjoyed the food and the whole vibe of the place. Pickle back was the most disappointing thing, it was like watered down pickle juice??? No zing to it at all, I felt sad to even spend money for it. Really other than that it was a great place to be, I will be back but just without a pickle back. 🥲🥲🥲

Food was amazing! The burgers were fresh and perfect on the flavor profile. Service was quick. Drinks were so good. We had a couple of great cocktails. Really great espresso martini. The jalapeno sauce with the cheese curds 10/10! We tried both burgers and loved them both! Highly suggest this place

Your double cheeseburger has no business being that good! Outside of maybe being a bit salty, this is not only one of the best burgers in Chicago, it's one of the best burgers I've ever had. I will be back.

Heartbreaking experience! This used to be my favorite neighborhood bar but since the change in management it's lost all its charm. They absolutely ruined the cozy vibes of the patio with giant TVs glowing in your face and a pergola the traps all the sound. It was so loud I struggled to hear the person next to me. Whoever chose to update the quaint patio furniture for uncomfortable communal benches should be fired. There is no host and no queuing, so finding a table was a confusing experience. Throughout my meal, different parties were constantly getting up to change tables as other parties departed. It was chaos. The cheese curds were meager and the burger was pathetic. Every decision about the new operation of this bar favored profit over basic comfort in customer experience. They even got rid of the promotional matchbooks. Shame on you small bar!

Finally made it out to try Small Bar and the outside doesn’t do the inside bar justice.
Patio space available, parking available on the street (double check signs for some permit only parking)
Great burgers, drinks and ambiance.
We will be back in due time!
Thank you!

Great vibe. Great happy hour. Burgers and curds are solid. I don’t love the automatic cc fees and whatever but this place was very special to me for a big chunk of this year.

Burgers are the best in the city and I love Au Cheval. Make sure you get an egg and bacon on the burger.

Loved the patio, nice and shady on a hot day. All the food was amazing, loved the pleaser fries!
A hidden gem, very friendly staff, and one of the best Smash Buegers in the north side come and check it out.
