it seems that the new management has come in and gutted the heart and soul of this place by cutting all of the existing employees. I don’t understand the rationale behind this when it’s a local neighborhood bar. This is just another example of corporate America running small town vibes

This place USED to be awesome. Great local atmosphere, the staff was awesome. Small Bar used to bring its own element to the Logan Square neighborhood but they changed ownership last year & all the things that made this place special have disappeared. They've seemingly let go of all the original staff, losing the neighborhood/local vibes & at this point you can just tell it's being run by yuppies. Would say it's a hard pass right now & if you are looking for something authentic to the area try The Native.

The SB of my youth no longer exists. I came back with adult money to buy mac and cheese, cozy up at a round table, and chat with a friendly bartender. It appears SB was sold. All the food is gone except smash burgers, the tables are booths, and there was no more table service. I had to order my overpriced food at the bar under the light of huge…televisions? What happened to the chalkboard menus? Bring back old school SB!

Tried this place on a whim and it ended up being one of the best burgers i’ve ever tried in chicago! My boyfriend and I tried the cheese curds, single pleaser burger, double pleaser burger, amaretto sour and pickle martini which were all really good. The place was a bit on the busy side so we were expecting food to take a while but everything came out super fast. Small menu but it works! In addition, the music was good and staff was super nice. It may be hard to find a spot to sit to eat when it’s busier though.

Top 3 best burgers I’ve had in Chicago. Great Sour beer while I waited and watched my burgers and fries be cooked

This place is my Chicago gem. Everything is done right. The smash burger and cheese curds are both phenomenal. The burger is a greasy delicious mess that I admit I sometimes order two of for myself. The interior has such a charming dive bar vibe. Everyone behind the bar is very friendly and helpful. I return here every time I’m in Chicago without fail!

I used to love this spot before the pandemic but now it's just another sterile yuppie haven with overhyped food that's barely seasoned. I'll stick to the spots that havent been tainted by the yuppie scourge

small-ish room with a nice patio when the weather permits. the cocktail menu is accessible, but diverse and well-made. the bartenders are welcoming and seem quite knowledgeable. draft list heavily features local breweries, and makes an effort to feature a number of different styles. extensive back bar with plenty of interesting whiskeys and cocktail modifiers.

don’t just come thirsty, though. the burgers are incredible. smash patties as wide as tea saucers covered in cheese, sauce, and grilled onions. don’t modify it, you do not have to, it’s perfect as is. don’t like burgers? well maybe don’t come hungry then. small menu done right, just a couple burger options, fries, and cheese curds. maybe the best burger in the city tho?

in all, a wonderful neighborhood bar to grab a quick drink or a casual burger dinner.
