Absolutely loved my experience at Smyth. The food was fantastic. Some truly tasty seafood and great use of fall ingredients like squash, pumpkin, mushrooms, and chestnuts. I found a lot of the dishes to be quite creative, with great textures, fun flavors, and unique preparation. More than a couple dishes were unlike anything I had tried before (in a good way). Service was also excellent. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. My new favorite 3 star restaurant in the US.
I took my partner here for a birthday experience and left confused and slightly regretful. We paid for the chefs menu and honestly I don’t know if it was worth the additional charge. The chefs would explain the dish to you, but it felt performative and awkward. The food was okay, I expected more from a 3 star Michelin restaurant.
