Everything about this place was great. The only thing is , we like to go out with large groups and they don't accept large groups. They did accommodate us for a small group of 5. The food came out hot and fresh. It was delicious. We went on a Thursday night and returned on Sunday for brunch. We will be back again.

When we walked into Soul Prime this last weekend we were initially told that we needed a reservation and that all the times were booked. I was sad at first but as my partner and I were about to leave, the owner, Chef Royce, insisted that we stay and squeezed us in for the evening. We were super grateful but the amazing experience did not stop there. Our service was amazing as our server, Jarquez, was super informative, friendly, and took the time to make our experience one of a kind! As if this experience couldn’t get any better, the food was super fresh, flavorful, and presented with no less than some of the best service I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant. We will definitely be going back for brunch. ? Thank you again, everyone at Soul Prime! ??

Double shot, Triple the price, During Happy hour!!!...on top of poor Service
My Lady and I were outraged at the last experience we had at Soul Prime. As we arrived we were seated promptly as there were only a few people at the bar and a Couple at the rear of the restaurant where we were also seated. After our waitress showed us to our seats...she disappeared!! So much so that after 15 mins I needed to get up to find her. Mind you, we hadn't even received an offering of water!
To my displeasure, I located her at the front of the restaurant sitting down, chattering away with whom I later found out to be the Manager. Not wanting to interrupt their conversation, I politely waited for about 15 secs until I could inform her that we were ready. Not until then did it seem as if we were recognized as a priority for her. She trailed me back to the table and took both of our orders. We ordered drinks, to which she promptly asked if we "wanted a double" , we said what the hell, why not. We commenced to ordering multiple items from the Happy hour selection along with a couple of add-ons.
Food came, we got to eating , but noticed that we were missing our M&C. We politely let the waitress know that we hadn't got all of our food. She then informed us "she missed that" and apologized...as we waited longer, she returned to inform us that the M&C was in and should be out soon. She was apologetic once more and went on to provide us an explanation that "the cooks speak a different language, and sometimes don't get what I'm telling them".....Well, that would be okay if you hadn't already told us that YOU forgot to put the order in. Rather misleading.
After, and following procedure ,the manager stopped to check in. Considering there had been another 10 mins of waiting time since the waitresses last visit AND we had already finished our meal, I thought it would be a good opportunity to inform him that the M&C still hadn't been received. He apologized and said " it should be up soon." ( I opted not to throw our waitress under the bus for her dishonesty.) Well, we finally got our M&C, only to be offered a to-go container considering it's tardiness. There was NO offering of Service Recovery for this mishaps!!!
Finally, we received the bill. To further our unpleasant experience we took notice that our drink charges had some extra padding. Typically, for a "double" I've experienced paying either double the price of the drink or some sort of "drink and a half" pricing. Not here, for the "extra shot" as later explained, we were charged $15 for the Tito's in the " Foyer" and $13 for the Repasado in the "Cadillac". This was in addition to the "Happy Hour" cost of the drink! I mean, these are prices of another cocktail. I attempted to resolve with the waitress and a bar manager. NO results..... Not a Happy Experience.

This was my first time coming here and I was not disappointed. We could not find street parking, but there is a parking garage a short walk from the restaurant. The staff was friendly from the moment we walked in until we left. The drinks and food were amazing. I regret not ordering cornbread muffins to go.

I really enjoyed my experience at Soul Prime. However, you not reading this just because of service. Every picture I post I tasted. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Peach Cadillac & The Color Purple! The cocktails are amazing! First time trying the collard green dip . I give it ⭐⭐⭐ I just thought the greens flavor would pop more than the cheese. The Fried Cat Fish & Mac get a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐?? they were bomb! Canned yams ⭐⭐⭐ I want a bit more texture they were kinda of mushy for me..flavor was gud though. Honey butter Corn Muffin ⭐ the texture nor the flavor were hittin' ? Banana Pudding, for me was too dry.. so it means there wasn't an even mixture of pudding and wafer ?
Parking is hard to get, there is a parking garage on the same block. Now, I don't mind paying money for amazing food. Everything is a separate charge. So don't forget your Wallet! Will I go back? Listen, I've ordered delivery from this restaurant on 2 separate occasions and the food was so good I decided to bring my family in person to experience the flavor I loved. We came in yesterday during lunchtime and it was completely dead other than 1 couple enjoying themselves. I myself am someone in the food industry as well as the other 3 family members I brought with me. The food had good flavor but that was not enough to satisfy our experience. The waiter wasn't busy and our food came out extremely slow. What bugged me beyond the food coming out slow was that the food came out inconsistently. Some sides first, then an entree, my uncle's sandwich came out by itself, then other items. There was a bunch of running back in forth to some back door in front of the bathrooms by the owner and the waiter(maybe they had a separate area for a bunch of to go orders or something, but that doesn't justify the lackluster service). The truffle fries were barely warm when they came out after 15-20 minutes (not an exaggeration) and our drinks we ordered from the bar came out slow as well and were barely strong when we asked for DOUBLES in our drinks. I feel the server didn't have to try hard or really check in with us because he got an automatic 20% gratuity which genuinely was not deserved. Yes, the owner passed by at one point to say hi in passing and again thanking us for our business but this also was not enough to make our experience any better. The food was the only thing that really made me give 3/5 when I feel like I should rate this place a 2/5. I'm always here to support my people, especially when someone like Keith Lee reviews them yet this was embarrassing for me to rave about while my family was unimpressed. I'm not sure if there's a staffing issue or lack of awareness but this was highly disappointing and I'll be sticking to online orders from now on, if that.

The food and employees were absolutely spectacular. Food is made with care and flavor & you’re definitely going to be well taken care of. The owner is truly concerned about the wellbeing of her patrons, & her + team seeks to build community with them; I’ve never met a business owner like her! She wants to ensure that you leave with a positive experience. 20/10 food was delicious (wings & mac & short rib tacos were my favorite).
