First of all, I will start by saying I am a foodie...So please know that I've had my share of dining experiences. I didn't have the best experience here. The food was good, but for me to truly enjoy a place, the food, service, and ambience have to be on point. I didn't feel comfortable eating at a counter. I believe the bar would have been a little bit more comfortable, but I was with my teenager..My advice would be to make reservations for the dining area unless you're okay with spending big bucks for a diner style meal.

The BEST! Not only was the food excellent, but the customer service matched. Chef Royce exudes a spirit of welcoming. You won’t be disappointed. We had the fish & grits, short rib bowl, and chicken & waffles (10/10). Even the drinks were top chef, WE WILL BE BACK. Parking wasn’t an issue. GOD BLESS!!!

Unfortunately, this was not a great experience! The service was disappointing and when presented tothe owner, our concerns went unaddressed. Initally, when we voiced our concerns (long wait, no attention from waiter, guests who arrived after us were served) she came to the table loudly saying that her food is cooked fresh and will have to be 30 mins and that she looked at her board we were under 30 mins. The thing that was really concerning was the way she tossed our food at us. It seemed she was bothered and in turn gave us terrible service. After addressing this privately, she never returned to the table and did not ensure we were taken care of! We want to be treated like Keith Lee! Show us that love. Also the food was “ok”. Extremely oily and buttery! There was a puddle of grease in the Mac! The greens were tasty and the fries were as well. The fact that we got chicken, fries, Mac, cornbread and tacos should have sped up the service, but it was so slow. The waiter only came once! And when we tried to send the food back, they said it was served! Ugh never coming back due to poor service and mediocre food.

I visited this place for the first time two weeks ago. It was on a Sunday, so they only serve brunch and they close at 3p. I had my heart set on trying their Catfish & Grits, but the waiter said they ran out of grits earlier in the day. My second option was the soul breakfast but it came with pork bacon. Turkey bacon is what I wanted, but it’s not on the menu. So finally settled on the Peach Waffles, side of Catfish Filets, and scrambled eggs with cheese. My drink of choice was the Soul Punch, it had Rum in it. Their music playlist is ???, good old R&B music.

WOW just WOW. The service was superb! Jaques was our server, the food I mean. TO LIVE FOR. The wait time for our food was long however WELL WORTH THE WAIT. We had the fried chicken, macaroni, shrimp for appetizer, and the Alfredo completed with our corn bread muffins. They even gave us a complimentary shot. Worth every penny the music was a vibeee will be back! 10/10
Everything was good but the cornbread is top tier. I regret not getting the chicken alfredo like my girlfriend because it was insanely good as well!

This place is absolutely amazing. What this place lacks in physical size it makes up in food. I’m talking about big flavor. From the drinks to the GREENS, to the catfish and grits to the maple honey muffins. Everything is excellent. My new favorite spot!!!

All chicken entrees were dark meat only…which I don’t eat . My next choice was the pasta. In website they said it was available on Saturday the night I was there. But on menu they changed days available…and it was not available on Saturday. I was stuck ordering a salad. My salad came out way after all other meals. I had to ask for it. And it came out not chilled…warm. And total cost was $36!…definitely not worth it. I will not be returning to soul prime.

Soul Prime was excellent! From the service to the food to getting to know the chef, the entire experience was great. The seafood nachos are amazing. We also had the fried fish, fried chicken, mac and cheese, the sweet potatoes and the corn muffins and everything was top tier. I couldn’t even get pictures because we dig in so fast. You definitely want to make the trip, you will not be disappointed.
