Spacca Napoli Pizzeria is a must-visit if you love true Neapolitan-style pizza. The crust is the star — soft, airy, and slightly charred from the wood-fired oven, with that perfect chewy bite. I tried a classic Margherita and it was beautifully simple: bright tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, fragrant basil, and quality olive oil that tied everything together. The atmosphere feels lively but cozy, almost like stepping into a neighborhood spot in Naples. Service was attentive and efficient even when busy. It’s not overloaded with toppings or gimmicks — just honest, well-executed pizza that speaks for itself.

Let me preface this by saying I am Neapolitan and was just in Napoli eating around at different pizzerias. The pizza here is not identical to what you would expect in Napoli. In fact, the dough is way thicker than how they prepare it in Napoli. That said, the dough is tasty and the pizza sauce is fantastic. Spacca is probably one of the closest place you can expect Neapolitan style pizza anywhere else in Chicago.

My wife and I had a spectacular dinner at Spacca Napoli. We have had many friends who have been here and we, after many years of hearing it's accolades, finally made it to this delicious pizzeria. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, immediately smelling like yeast and the ol' country upon entry. The staff and out server were very friendly and th right kind of casual.

And most importantly, the food was marvelous, especially the Pistachio Pesto pizza. We finished off the night with some cannolis.

Can't recommend enough, this spot may become a regular haunt.

Food, especially pizza is always amazing. Service today was not great. I watched as every table got served bread, we never got it. I watched all tables around us get acknowledged multiple times. It was like our table was invisible. Our server checked in on us one time. I had to get up to get my box and ask for our waiter and our bill. I mentioned my concern and how long I was waiting. Waiter finally came, never apologized. So disappointed.

To put into writing what Spacca Napoli means to me is not something I feel I can do justice to, but I will try below. The food and service are absolutely incredible. My wife and I had one of our first dates here; it was the first restaurant we went to with our first child (as naive parents, that is big!) - a ton of memories were made here, and we continue to build them visiting from the suburbs at least twice a month. The selection and quality are unmatched, not only in Chicago but anywhere I have looked for a similar experience (that said, Pizza Pilgrim in London, UK, comes close but is ultimately a close second in this case); I’m always left wanting Spacca Napoli. Since we stumbled into Spacca Napoli the first time in ~2012, it’s been obvious it was someplace different; bussers grow into servers, servers to managers - people grow, and their commitment and outward happiness are evident in every interaction. The owner is truly someone who loves what he does and how it’s presented to his customers, and that is only second to how he treats everyone who works with and for him. Spacca Napoli is a neighborhood institution that should be protected at all costs.

Joy incarnate in every bite. Love the pistachio pizza the most but they’re all fantastic (even the one with tuna and celery, somehow!)

We got lucky and were able to get a table without reservation. At 4pm on Sunday, we found the place busy with diners and received a warm inviting vibe as we were quickly led to our table. Our starters of burata and arancini were delicious, altho we needed more bread to go w the burata. We ordered two pizzas to share and both were equally delicious. Toppings were generous, almost to a fault as it made the pizzas a little on the soggy side (but it was a nice problem to have). Would definitely return. Perhaps they can open a store in the west too? Good pizzas are hard to find in the western surburbs. Hint hint!!!

GLUTEN FREE CRUST. I took my G-F mom to this place and oh my goodness the servers were so kind and efficient and the pizza selection was top tier. It felt like our food was brought out instantly. For it being a Friday night it was much quieter than you'd expect it to be. Overall, great experience, lovely service, long wait for an abrupt table (no res), but worth it nonetheless.
