It's Margie's. It's loud crowded busy and everything takes too long but MY GOD is the ice cream worth it
Test good, smooth and delicious icecream. In evening very busy.
Quite possibly THE best ice cream in Chicago with its old time ice cream parlor vibe. Well worth the wait, though, and you WILL wait, especially in the summer, as there's not a lot of seating. Still, if you've never been, you need to visit!

Margie's Candies is a small location with indoor seating and a walk-up window. The restaurant has a lovely antique vibe with little stereos at each table and a glass memorabilia case filled with the heritage of Margie’s Candies. While they may run out of ice cream flavors by late afternoon, the ice cream itself is good, and they offer dozens of flavors, toppings, and mix-ins. The service is great, with food arriving within minutes of ordering, and staff are very friendly and helpful. The limited parking area makes public transit or walking better options, as there is no wheelchair accessibility. Sundays are a specialty, with the Sunday coming with hot fudge, wafers, and three scoops of ice cream, which can be shared or finished alone. The shakes are very good, not too thick or watery, and can even substitute for a meal. The brownie sundae remains popular, with a super warm and fresh brownie topped with top-notch chocolate sauce. The raspberry sherbet is also a delightful option, with generous portions. Overall, Margie’s is a great place to enjoy a treat whether for a Sunday or just a fancy dessert, offering a relaxing vibe and an affordable way to spend an afternoon.
