Best cheese curds and oysters Rockefeller you will ever have. Their steak is also immaculate. One of if not my favorite restaurant in Chicago. Yes, it’s pricy, but as an occasional, it’s worth it!!!

Lovely room. Good food. Service was off. As soon as we sat down, server wanted to take a drink order. We asked for a couple of minutes and it took about 10 minutes to get his attention after that and it defined service throughout. At the end of the evening as we were leaving I refused more water. The assistants comment was don’t worry, we don’t charge for water. Head scratcher of a comment

Fun recreation of a more upscale version of an old time Wisconsin supper club. Amazing prime rib, cheese curds, what more could you ask (particularly when dining with older parents)

As some one who has been to all of the restaurants in the group, this was a massive disappointment. Massively overpriced with portions not worth the value. Roister would have been a much better option for half of the price. Truly a meal to forget

What a disappointment. I had such high hopes for this place since I had such a wonderful experience at Roister.

The service was unsatisfactory, it seems like they were under staffed even though the restaurant wasn’t full. Took 10-15 minutes to get my first drink, ordered a second drink through the busser and when that drink didn’t arrive for another 10-15, had to flag down the waiter to ask about it. Had only 3 conversations with my waiter, one to take my order, two to ask about my drink, and lastly the thanks for stopping by bill drop off.

The food was just ok, Cesar salad, crab cake, Chicago cut prime rib, Brussels sprouts, grasshopper pie, 2 cocktails came out to almost $300. Underwhelming and nothing to write home about. Total contrast from Roister, St. Clair Supper Club feels like the forgotten restaurant in the basement.

In total, would I recommend this place to friends/ family? No, but if you go I hope your experience is better than mine. Not the type of service or experience you’d expect from a Grant Achatz restaurant. But if the small town idgaf diner is the theme he was going for, we definitely paid the price.

All in food was salty and overpriced. 20% included gratuity that I missed so accidentally tipped 40%, my fault but not worth it.

I had a great experience eating here. I got to chat with the chefs and the server, learned about the food and the Alinea Group restaurants, and was treated very well. I loved every bite of food, most especially the Robuchon pommes puree, but I do think the majority of diners would find the food on the salty side.

Parking: If you can take public transportation, do that. Otherwise valet is the best option unless you get there very early to circle for available parking spots

Christopher was a great server, the music and drinks were fabulous, and the food was even better. Their homemade ranch and fish and chips were delicious! Prime rib was the best I ever had and I am a Wisconsin suppper club addict. Cheers to Mark and Tommy the chefs!

We came here for their valentine’s day special and we absolutely loved it! We sat at the bar with Max and Suni and they were amazing! Very friendly, funny, charming, and attentive! The ambience was perfect for our special night. It was both my boyfriend and I first time here and we would definitely come again. Everyone was doing a fantastic job working together as a team during a busy night. I noticed how the team communicated and coordinated with one another very well. Also the food was incredible! My boyfriend doesn’t like tomatoes and he literally inhaled their tomato bisque before I even finished mine. I was truly impressed with everyone. Thank you again for this amazing experience!

Wildly overpriced, mediocre to bad food served in a basement room that looks like a faded 1970s bar. Oysters Rockefeller were watery and not flavorful, at $6 per oyster. Caesar salad had yellowish lettuce that was not fresh and a strangely acidic dressing. Grasshopper pie was lacking in flavor and had a crust that was so hard it was impossible to cut. Creamed spinach was not creamed but merely had a dusting of grated cheese. Prime rib was decent but not exceptional, and $70 for a slice of prime rib served a la carte?? A $65 service fee was added to our check for dinner for 2, which cost $400 with wine. Service was very attentive but overall this was a very disappointing and outrageously expensive experience.

Meh. That’s the best way to describe this food. I thought we’d be getting one of the best prime ribs you could ever have, but this is just standard you can get much better prime rib anywhere - and other places would let you get it less rare. Also, instead of a more standard Au jus - they tried to fancy it up it’s more of a thicker Demi glaze- while nice for a bite or two you end up really missing a standard prime rib au jus.The chicken Cordon Bleu was horrible! I ordered it because I haven’t had one in like 20 years and it’s rare to see it on an actual menu here in the US. All three of us took one bite and left the rest. The brussels sprouts were ok, but the mushrooms were not great at all- they were overly chard without a great flavor, and too large. The mashed potatoes were fine. The deviled eggs were good, but just because they have truffle, didn’t make them much better than othersThe grasshopper pie was what I was the most excited about next to the prime rib - but it was only OK. It needs some thing else maybe like some dark chocolate or a thicker cookie crust because that mousse Jell-O type mint filling is extremely rich and overpowering with mint it needs something to help balance a bit.I gave them 2 stars here since the grasshopper pie and the brussels sprouts we’re not horrible, but the rest meh!The service was great but honestly, the food is just nothing special at all- I should have read the reviews firstJust go to a standard steakhouse, or a prime rib spot will be better food and value

I had high hopes for this place, given it's place in the Next/Alinea empire. But almost nothing was good. The prime rib, which should be the best thing, was served to us so rare it was almost blue, and the sauce surrounding it was way, way too salty. The cocktails were kind of watery and dull, and the service was rude and haughty. Overall, I felt embarrassed I had hyped this place so much to my guests beforehand. And the prices here are crazy high, like, Alinea high, which made the low quality of the food and service even more insulting. Grant Aschatz, where are you?

It's not that the food is bad, but it's not great. It's only ok. There are many restrants that have ok food. Like TGI Fridays, or olive garden, but they don't charge the kind of money for their food that this place does. I spent $350.00 for myself and a friend. We got apps drinks and the prime rib with sides. There wasn't anything that really stood out as great. It wasn't bad just not worth the price. I kind of feel ripped off and I will never go back again.

One of my new faves in the W. Loop. Reviews complaining about the "chicken" or whatever are hysterical. ?? The prime rib, of course, is extraordinary. It's also super cool to walk past everyone and be all "ah we're going downstairs to the restaurant within the restaurant."
