Sushi by Bou - Gold Coast

Unfortunately, we had to wait 40 minutes past our reservation start time to be seated. We were only given one extra piece of nigiri as an apology. Everyone who worked there was quite friendly, but the service was very slow. Sushi was tasty, but a bit overcomplicated. All in all, would recommend if your focus is drinking and you are willing to wait a long time and leave slightly hungry.

We were there for Restaurant Week and had the 10 piece omakase special. Every bite was flavorful and melt in your mouth. Definitely going back again.

The ladies guiding us through our evening had a presence that was welcoming, engaging without being obstrusive. Really enjoyed our evening with them.

The speakeasy vibe of this location was dope and upscale. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated in a comfy lounge area to wait for seating. The chef was attentive and friendly as well as the staff, especially the hostess. The food was great and the vibe was nice. We will definitely return.

We enjoyed the 12-course set plus 3 additional personalized pieces curated by Chef Yang—favorites included the miso black cod and seared salmon belly courses. Excellent service from Roger and Tashon. Great art deco lounge atmosphere; highly recommend.

Great omakase experience - fish was fresh and tasty, love the intimate setting, and service was great.

We showed up as they were closing without reservations. They couldn’t seat us for dinner, but we got to sit at the bar and chat with the staff. These are remarkably wonderful people who love what they do and bend over backwards to please anyone who walks through the door. We can’t wait to go back for more than just saki.

staff was amazing! everyone was very attentive and personable. They serve delicious drinks and the best seafood i've ever had! it was an amazing dinner.

This is just my experience at this particular location:

Reservation was at 9pm, but was told they were backed up ~10-15 min. Got seated at 9:30pm only after asking a couple times when we would be seated. Blonde hostess didn’t seem to care or acknowledge the lateness, basically kept forgetting about us. Asked about some app promos and was told I’d be taken care of but she totally forgot and I had to remind them. Our “1 hour” slot felt rushed and we finished around 40 minutes.

Besides that, the food was great, chef was amazing and all the other staff were responsive & attentive! Would visit again despite her service.
