This was my all time favorite bakery, lemon cupcakes being the absolute best. It’s still just as charming and delicious after all these years. They now have gluten free options which is fantastic, but maybe call before heading over because they were all out of the cupcakes when we went there, however, they had a huge fresh gluten free sugar cookie with frosting and sprinkles that was a wonderful treat!

I have been ordering my husband's birthday cake from here for the past 10 years because it's his favorite cake place. I am NOT a cake person (I prefer pies or ice cream cake) but not going to lie, this is one cake I eat every time I order it for my hubby or my kid. The only reason I gave one less star for service is because the cake I ordered was not what I requested in the on-line order I placed. The colors are not what is reflected from the picture on-line in comparison to what I picked up.

I called long distance to have a cake delivered to my son (who is in Chicago for college) on his birthday. The person I spoke to on the phone was kind and patient and very helpful! The process was easy and the cake was perfect and delivered exactly on time to the correct place. It was the 1st time I wasn’t able to be with my son on his birthday and you guys made it special!I called two other bakeries, but they immediately directed me to their online sites and did not take the time to answer my questions over the phone. Third time was the charm. I will order again! Thank you!

I ordered two gluten free flourless chocolate cakes, one with ganache. The ganache cake had a great texture but it was too dark for me. I rarely consume sugary foods so I don't care for overly sweet desserts, however, I felt the ganache cake could have used a bit more sweetness. The second cake, without the ganache wasn't even edible. It actually tasted salty. It was awful and I threw it out. Other reviews describe these two items as perfectly sweet so I'm confused as to why mine were so awful. Perhaps it was just a bad batch.

Hi,I’m honestly surprised that the cake I ordered wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. This place has high ratings. I thought the cake would be 5/5 stars for me. The frosting was absolutely delicious.Unfortunately, the cake itself was dry and didn’t taste good. It had a bread like flavor that reminded me of cornbread without sugar. The cake also didn’t match the description I asked for. I had a photo emailed and asked exactly for it to match the cake. It came back a different color of blue. I was a bit disappointed that the cake didn’t taste great or match the description. I would have appreciated if the staff told us they couldn’t do that color. That’s why I sent a photo. Why not just let me know if you cannot replicate the exact color?We would have paid more if it had hit all the right spots. The original price was going to be over $100 so we thought this cake was going to be top tier. But when the price became $60, we wondered if it would still be a good cake ?.The staff on the phone was rude. The staff through email was wonderful. I’m not sure who I spoke to through email but they were an angel. If it was the same person on the phone, I am not sure what was going on. But I doubt it was because the person through email wasn’t aware that we had made the order through the phone which could have been bad if we paid twice.I ordered this cake a couple of months in advance last year so there was definitely time for this cake to be made well.For such a high rated cake place I am just really shocked that the cake itself was bad. The cake should be made well not just the icing. Even a cake from target or Walmart would have topped the flavor/texture of this cake. I would not normally rate a cake like this so low but it really was bad and disappointing after a long wait for it to be such a bad experience at the end of the wait.

We worked with Autumn to get a custom cake for our baby shower. The full sheet cake turned out beautiful! It was a delicious and moist yellow cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. Our guests said it was the best cake they ate! Will order future cakes here!

We love the iced sugar cookies! Those are always a go to for us. We have tried other types of cookies but those are our favorite. We also tried the vanilla cupcake with chocolate buttercream frosting this weekend and that mayyyy have knocked the iced sugar cookie from first place!By far the best bakery I’ve come by in Chicago in my 2 years here.

What a brilliant bakery. Fabulous baking and genuinely warm hospitality. I was searching for breakfast on Thanksgiving morning. Everywhere that said it was open was shut apart from Mandy B’s. I got a brilliantly baked breakfast and some fabulous cup cakes. Plus the most delicious gluten free chocolate cake for desert. Most gluten free cakes tend to be bland. Not this one. It blew my taste buds and gave me one of the biggest sugar highs of a lifetime. Thanks folks for such a warm welcome to an Irishman adrift on Thanksgiving!p.s. I dropped back in a few days later. Different staff team working - same utterly brilliant hospitality! Sweet Mandy B’s is pure Bakery magic!
